It was a Florida winter with a temperature into the 90s for this mid-day game. The Steelers won the toss and elected to receive the ball. On their first drive, the Steelers had to resort to the passing game as their ground game was stuffed at the line of scrimmage on nearly every occasion, but they still moved the ball fairly successfuly. The Jaguars swatted the ball down on a 3rd down situation, forcing a punt. On their first drive, the Jaguars went three and out on the 15 and were forced to punt as every passing attempt was foiled. Starting on their 35, the Steelers saw some success in both the air and ground game to set up a 36 yard field goal. With the ball back in their hands, the Jags took it from their 33 to the Steelers 46 using some short passes and runs. In a 3rd and 1 situation on the 46, RB Jawan Jamison turned a HB Dive for the first down into a 46 yard touchdown, blazing past all of the defenders. Looking recapture the lead, the Steelers marched the ball down to the 2 relying mostly on Roethlisberger’s arm, but the Jags stood tall in the end zone forcing another field goal. A great return by KR Jordan put the Jags on their 38. A big pass to WR Blakely as well as a facemask penalty on the same play put the Jags on the Steelers 24 with 1 minute left in the half. Polamalu intercepted a pass intended for WR Black putting the ball back in the Steelers hands on the 31. The Steelers tried to go deep four times in a row, but each time the pressure got to them and the drive and quarter ended with a 12 yard sack by LB Wright. As the teams went into half time the score was tight at 7-6 Jaguars.
At the start of the 3rd, KR Jordan followed blocks and broke tackles to complete a 104 yard kick return, which coupled with the extra point made it an 8 point game. The Steelers could not mach the Jaguars early enthusiasm, as the Jag’s defense forced a 3 and out. The Jaguars got good field position thanks to PR Black who brought the ball back to the Steelers’ 43. The Jaguars started to run the ball well, but the Steeler Defense caused a fumble on RB Jamison. Trying to take the momentum of the game, Steeler RB Greene broke a 22 yard rush to put the Steelers in Jaguar territory. The Steelers took the air game the rest of the way to the 1. Greene successfully punched the ball into the end zone, but failed to convert the 2point conversion. The Jaguars responded back by getting down to the Steelers’ 26, but were forced to kick a field goal being only inches away from the first. The score was 17-12 as the Steelers got the ball at the 20 with 2:30 left on the clock. They marched down the field, 80 yards, finishing the drive with 41 yard passing touchdown to WR Sweed and converted the 2point conversion to get a 3 point lead of 17-20 over the Jaguars. KR Jordan stuck back quickly, taking another kickoff into end zone after breaking multiple tackles. The Steelers took a knee in the end zone and went 10 yard until a tipped ball at the line of scrimmage turned into a interception by LB Wright, which dashed any hopes the Steelers may have had for a victory. Knowing the Steelers only had two time out and no way to completely stop the Jags from running out the clock, the Jaguars got into victory formation to end the game, but the Steelers called a timeout anyway. Annoyed by this, Offensive Coordinator Fred Taylor called for the ball to be given to Jawan Jamison who completed a 12 yard rush. Taylor motioned for a hurry up offensive and for the ball to be given to Jamison once again. As QB Jefferson handed the ball off to RB Jamison the game clock expired, but Jamison still ran into the end zone on a 24 yard rushing touchdown.
Player of the Game: Jawan Jamison (123 yards and 2 TDs)
Jaguars 31 (ovrl 93) to Steelers 20 (ovrl 88)
Another fun game, this was a very close one and I felt like my offense never had the ball due to the two kick returns for touchdowns. Everything felt right, even when I was up I felt like the Steelers could come back. These sliders have brought the intensity of real games that “All-Pro” is missing. Thanks for the sliders Steeler.

I know it's hard to give up control, but to get more realistic special team's play, you really have to let the cpu control ALL kick returns. This last patch made kick returns WAY too easy and if you control manually you will likely return one every game which is very unrealistic. I also recommend not using sprint button after INT's ... it's just too easy to run them back in this game.
Thanks again for trying the sliders and I'm glad your enjoying them. I will get another game or two in later tonight ... I plan to control the same team for both games, one game vs a stronger opponent, and the other against a weaker opponent. Hopefully I'll be able to feel the difference between the two games.

I played a 12min acc clock on... last night on exhibition mode ME the Bengals of course versus the Browns with the browns at home.. It was a great game in which i finally pulled it off in OT with a 23-20 WIN!! Only thing was the browns Brady Quinn was 13-47 with 1 TD and 2 INT's one was taken to the house! Also cleveland had two fumbles and i never run good so i can't give feedback there. I notice the WR's finally drop passes now and the slants and cross routes aren't automatic as normal.. Great Job!!

The picked up about 5 90s in the off seasons. Also to the guy who was wondering about Manning still being in the game, well he retired this year and I picked the top QB in the draft hoping to trade the Colts for him, I am looking for at least 1st round as their current QB is Tony Homo with a 73ovrl.
I need to test in a game where I have more control of the offense, but I'll be out of town until Monday, so I will be away from madden for a while. But from what I did play, everything seemed good. I am getting sacks, interceptions, fumbles, and they are as well.
I have seen that about the patch, but I feel like I am getting just as many now as when I got the game(first day it came out.) I remember I won my first franchise game by tieing with a Kick return, then winning in overtime with a kick return.

I tell you what, I'll be playing a game or two in a short while. I will pay close attention to the DB's and get back to you with a better answer. Any specific routes your more interested in, or any pass play in general?

its the plays where the WR cuts using momentum and so does the DB that I'm interested to see how quickly the DB reacts after the WR has started his cut
is the DB planting his foot to cut at the same time the WR is? a half a step behind? a full step? before the WR plants?
obviously it will vary a little each time, but you should be able to see in replays a general timing by the db
