They typically lower each team's "aggressiveness" slider which alters the defensive play-calling. I have done that same thing in previous years, but haven't tries it with M10.
Hey Steeler,
1 thing that might help ya here. If you are using the "advanced" setting...I highly suggest you bump that up to "Hardcore".
The only thing you'd be missing are the instant replays (not that there were a bunch anyway)....but I was hesitant on trying this,as I didn't believe there would be alot of difference....but I gotta tell ya,I was DEAD wrong....the cpu defense seems to play much better, and will also blitz in more of a realistic fashion,BUT....they will also blitz when you are not expecting it as well, really keeps ya on your feet.

Hey CP ... good to hear from you! I'll give hardcore a shot next game I play and see if I notice a difference. I typically do manual replays anyway if I want to re-watch a previous play.

Hopefully you'll witness the same things I did.
My "bread and butter" plays to Heath Miller don't work NEAR as much as they did on advanced, and the same goes for slants.
I'm not saying it's perfect by any means, but I've played enough games on both settings and can honestly say that hardcore seems MUCH better in regards to cpu play.
No "placebo" here :-)[Reply]

Well I didn't notice any difference as far as blitzes were concerned in my games tonight. CPU blitzed away like crazy! However I did feel like the cpu defense played better overall, although two games might not be enough to verify that?
For any of you trying these sliders I will make a few more small adjustments after tonight's games. After my last run adjustments for HUM, I had zero success running the ball with defenders breaking blocks way to quickly, and no broken tackles for my RB's. I have also not seen one fumble by my RB's so I will tweak this by dropping fumble a bit, and bringing run blk back up a bit. I also think HUM qb is still too accurate as I'm using average guys like Orton and Campbell in my latest games. I will drop accuracy a bit and move those points over to pass blk because o-line blocking jhas been horrible!
CPU pass blocking is feeling a bit too strong, but I will leave that alone for now as I don't want to take away too much cpu offense. As it is I'm seeing a nice mix of runs and passes from the cpu, and their forcing me to pay attention on defense.
As always all changes updated on page 1 in BOLD ...

Actually I find it very easy to run the ball. Granted I run with the Browns OL and McGahee and Okoye.

That may be the difference ... I was playing as the Redskins vs Giants so a very good defensive line (and rivalry game)? I will get a game in with the updated settings and see how it feels. In last night's games the cpu's d-line was breaking tackles so quickly that I rarely got a chance to get thru any holes? I certainly want the run game to be difficult, but there has to be some sustained blocking by the hum o-line.
I will play my next game using a strong run team vs a mediocre defense ... Vikings vs Browns

Couple areas I'd like to get some feedback on:
HUM pass offense
Now that I lowered QB ACC, I seem to be seeing quite a few more drops, even with higher rated WR's. Let me know what your seeing in your games with the current settings ... too many drops, realistic accuracy, etc.
HUM run offense
Now that I lowered BRK TKL and RUN BLK how is the run game working for you? I also lowered the CPU BLK SHD and TKL slightly to offset the HUM adjustments.
I'd like to see feedback from people using "stud" QB's and RB's and also "average to below average" QB's and RB's. I really want these settings to reflect the difference between high and low rated players. Obviously the O-line comes into play here as well.
*one other thing ... too many broken tackles by CPU RB's or just right?

Just refreshed the sliders and am about to face off against the 8-3(88ovrl) Steelers. Let me know of any stats you want.

Mainly looking for RUN and PASS stats of the HUM team, as well as thoughts on dropped passes. I'm also interested in any opinions on the number of broken tackles by CPU players.

The (8-3) Pittsburg Steelers came to (10-1) Jacksonville for a week 12 matchup. The Steelers were missing their starting MLB and ROLB for the game against the Jaguars. It was a Florida winter with a temperature into the 90s for this mid-day game. The Steelers won the toss and elected to receive the ball. On their first drive, the Steelers had to resort to the passing game as their ground game was stuffed at the line of scrimmage on nearly every occasion, but they still moved the ball fairly successfuly. The Jaguars swatted the ball down on a 3rd down situation, forcing a punt. On their first drive, the Jaguars went three and out on the 15 and were forced to punt as every passing attempt was foiled. Starting on their 35, the Steelers saw some success in both the air and ground game to set up a 36 yard field goal. With the ball back in their hands, the Jags took it from their 33 to the Steelers 46 using some short passes and runs. In a 3rd and 1 situation on the 46, RB Jawan Jamison turned a HB Dive for the first down into a 46 yard touchdown, blazing past all of the defenders. Looking recapture the lead, the Steelers marched the ball down to the 2 relying mostly on Roethlisberger’s arm, but the Jags stood tall in the end zone forcing another field goal. A great return by KR Jordan put the Jags on their 38. A big pass to WR Blakely as well as a facemask penalty on the same play put the Jags on the Steelers 24 with 1 minute left in the half. Polamalu intercepted a pass intended for WR Black putting the ball back in the Steelers hands on the 31. The Steelers tried to go deep four times in a row, but each time the pressure got to them and the drive and quarter ended with a 12 yard sack by LB Wright. As the teams went into half time the score was tight at 7-6 Jaguars.
At the start of the 3rd, KR Jordan followed blocks and broke tackles to complete a 104 yard kick return, which coupled with the extra point made it an 8 point game. The Steelers could not mach the Jaguars early enthusiasm, as the Jag’s defense forced a 3 and out. The Jaguars got good field position thanks to PR Black who brought the ball back to the Steelers’ 43. The Jaguars started to run the ball well, but the Steeler Defense caused a fumble on RB Jamison. Trying to take the momentum of the game, Steeler RB Greene broke a 22 yard rush to put the Steelers in Jaguar territory. The Steelers took the air game the rest of the way to the 1. Greene successfully punched the ball into the end zone, but failed to convert the 2point conversion. The Jaguars responded back by getting down to the Steelers’ 26, but were forced to kick a field goal being only inches away from the first. The score was 17-12 as the Steelers got the ball at the 20 with 2:30 left on the clock. They marched down the field, 80 yards, finishing the drive with 41 yard passing touchdown to WR Sweed and converted the 2point conversion to get a 3 point lead of 17-20 over the Jaguars. KR Jordan stuck back quickly, taking another kickoff into end zone after breaking multiple tackles. The Steelers took a knee in the end zone and went 10 yard until a tipped ball at the line of scrimmage turned into a interception by LB Wright, which dashed any hopes the Steelers may have had for a victory. Knowing the Steelers only had two time out and no way to completely stop the Jags from running out the clock, the Jaguars got into victory formation to end the game, but the Steelers called a timeout anyway. Annoyed by this, Offensive Coordinator Fred Taylor called for the ball to be given to Jawan Jamison who completed a 12 yard rush. Taylor motioned for a hurry up offensive and for the ball to be given to Jamison once again. As QB Jefferson handed the ball off to RB Jamison the game clock expired, but Jamison still ran into the end zone on a 24 yard rushing touchdown.
Player of the Game: Jawan Jamison (123 yards and 2 TDs)
Jaguars 31 (ovrl 93) to Steelers 20 (ovrl 88)
Another fun game, this was a very close one and I felt like my offense never had the ball due to the two kick returns for touchdowns. Everything felt right, even when I was up I felt like the Steelers could come back. These sliders have brought the intensity of real games that “All-Pro” is missing. Thanks for the sliders Steeler.
