Question to those who use the IQ Sliders

1) Do you play with the weapon settings on?
2) Do you use the default auto sub-in sliders?
3) Do you call your own plays on offense/defense?
4) Do you play with Intermediate or Hardcore?
5) How many minutes do you play a quarter?
6) Do you play with the default penalties settings?

I'm asking those with the latest patch!

Re: Question to those who use the IQ Sliders

With my games, I always get 2 consecutive holding penalties all the time when I play... this doesn't bother you guys?

Steeler99, do the plays you call have a lot to do with the opponent's weaknesses or do you just call whatever sounds good? What's your stradegy? I use ask madden because I get carried away with money plays.

I try to attack whatever I deem my opponents weakness is. For example if a team has weak DT's I may focus more on inside runs, whereas against a team with weak OLB's I would do more outside running. As for passing, what is your opponents strength, pass rush, coverage, etc. Try to find plays that attack their weakness. If you know their d-ends will be in your pocket quickly stick with short passes until their pass rush backs off, then try to go deep (i haven't had much success yet with deep passes myself?). Especially early on with IQ certain aspects of your game will be very difficult, like running. During those games you really have to set up the run with successful passing, then mix in some play-action.

On defense I mainly use cover 1 plays, but I always mix in a few blitzes just to keep the cpu guessing. Obviously the run game is the easiest aspect of the CPU to shut down, but I typically call something out of the 4-3 when their in two WR, Nickle when their in 3 WR, and nickle or dime when in 4 WR. I also mix in some 4-6 as I use Chicago's playbook right now. In the end I guess I try to call plays just like I would in a real game if that helps?

EDIT: Obviously you also have to go with whatever "your" teams strengths are too!

That's good stuff man, thanks! I'll give it a try. Ask madden is getting a bit stale now.

It's moved around a bit the last couple games but I believe it dropped down to mid level of All Pro right after my last game?

By the way I haven't seen the back to back holding calls in any of my games. I think I have all penalties at 95 with holding at 50 or 55, but I can't remember for sure. I don't see as many penalties as I should, but I do actually get a nice mix of calls (def PI, false starts, holding, facemask, clipping).
