Sliders, Sliders, Sliders !

I posted this somewhere else.. just wanted to see if anyone else was feeling the same.

I gotta tell ya.. I don't post often but have been watching these forums and playing madden for a long time. I am a madden veteran, and do consider myself an above average player. With that being said I have to say that I am loving the IQ also. I remember the days of picking up a football game and just playing a season, and not worrying about the sliders and what not. Because they didn't have them. Case in point.." Tecmo Bowl " You could sit and play a whole season in one night, and it was a blast. Then sliders came along, and I got sucked in. I found that I was adjusting sliders for half of the season and very rarely did I get more than 1 complete season in franchise in. I have tried to use Hells, Vince's and a couple other slider sets here so far this year, and I have not had as good of an experience then I do with "My IQ " Not that the sliders are terrible but. slider sets are continiously being tweaked, and adjusted by the creator.. basically when you think about it they are doing the same thing that the IQ is doing automatically. Now I am pretty much finished with sliders, other than the infamous penalty, sub, and special teams, that always need adjusted. I just play the games for what they are.. if I throw 5 interceptions 1 game or break rushing records, I just try and beat that mark. It is my franchise, and it is a game.. basically it is no different than being in a fantasy league. My stats will reflect what is going on in my franchise and not the what is going on in real life. If I want real life stats ..I buy a ticket and go to the game. Hope that makes sense. The IQ gives me a close enough simulation for my franchise that it works for me, and no sliders can be made to mirror the NFL, because you never now what is going to happen from week to week. I remember rushing for 2000 yds 1 season on tecmo and it was god like.. now it happens every year. Favre threw 6 TD's last week in NFL.. if that would have happened with someones sliders, they would be "tweaking" come Monday morning. I say play with IQ and let the game be what it is.. a " game " and create your own stats from year to year within your own dynasty. Peace out.

nice point bro,i kind of went back to the iq myself..2-5 in my jags franch,good games too,just my stupid mistakes...

Absolutely. I started really put in time with "IQ" and have gotten great results. I'm having nice varied results with my own IQ setting. I have tried to with the flow in all the exhibition games I have played and let the IQ take its course. Now I have gotten to the point were my IQ adjust very little at the end of my games, and my sliders are realistic for my style of play.

FRANCHISE TIME!!!

Are you guys taking the Madded test or are you skipping that?

I took the madden test and went from there till I felt I was playing a fun and realistic game of football that fit to my playing level. The key is to go with what you got. Trust the system to make the necessary adjustments after your games. So what if you lose a couple times or have some games with weird stats if you hang in there and let the sliders adjust to whats going on in your games, it will all pay off in the end. The end result will provide you with a fun game without feeling to unrealistic. After all its your "IQ" right? The game will tailor to you without losing its competitive edge.
