It is safe to say that Steve Smith isn't doing his job running the proper routes. Jake is a precision passer, he can probably throw a football threw a tire while being blind folded, off the wrong foot, and with his non-dominant left hand. What makes Drew Brees are his recievers, if I remember correctly pre-2004, Brees got benched for Doug Flutie and they drafted Eli Manning (trade for Phillip Rivers). If you want to be technical, it is the way a team runs an offense. Drew Brees became a better passer because of the system he was in. Jake Delhomme's system is terrible, because we got rid of Dan Henning. Jake is definately a top 5 quarterback in the NFL. Hate on him if you want, but he is clutch. This is a guy you can put in the same category - the same sentence as Joe Montana, Dan Marino, John Elway. It is the offense he is in, trust me. If you are going to deduct ratings from someone it ought to be the Panthers offensive coordinator Jeff Davidson. Give him a 57 rating for his passer attribute.
First off Jake Delhomme has 1 friggen TD an 5 interceptions!! Tony Romo has 4 TDs and 3 interceptions!! Big difference!!!

And did Testaverde or Carr excel??? Ofcourse not, they would be rated in the 50s in this game. They suck!!

For the Drew Brees argument, he wasn't very good until he started lighting it up. Brees on San Diego is 50x better than Delhomme right now.

Jake is a top 5 QB IN THE NFL!!!! WHAT DO YOU BASE THAT OFF OF??!??! No Super Bowls, Terrible QB rating, and a very good offense that he still can't do good with.

And the Steve Smith argument?? Are you the offensive coordinator? How do you know he is running the wrong routes? Then why does every analyst love him and think Delhomme sucks. Do you know something they don't?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Agl8P4EQtE

Is there one play there that wasnt Delhommes fault other than the fumble and maybe 1 of the deflections? Were there any wrong routes run? Am I missing something?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtzT7YTzGHU

Now watch Delhomme continuosly throw in double coverage and Steve 'Superman' Smith constantly come up with it. As Deion says in the video, one of the greatest recievers ever.

Delhome in the same sentence as Montana, Young, and Elway? You have to be the dumbest person alive right now. What has he done to deserve that?

And your right your OC sucks, for letting Delhomme throw the ball. Hell Steve Smith should throw the ball up to himself. Plus with a dominating run attack.

Ask any Panthers fan if Delhomme is one of the top 5 QBs in the NFL? Ask that guy DeftFundamentalz. Even he isnt as biased as you are. Your team is 0-2. Least when im biased toward my Jets were 2-0!!!

Man this has to be the worst thread ever! Donny Moore has watched 40x more football than you have. Let him do his job he is good.

I say we "Crown Jakes Arse" MVP so homers will be happy.

BTW: One can never argue with a homer, Its not worth it, lol.....And why isnt Favre rated higher??? He should be a 99!!! Hes my favorite player!!!!!

Clutch?..Did you see last years playoff appearance, how can you ignore the fact that he's been playing horrible since then. And you think he should be ranked with Joe Montana, Dan Marino, And John Elway? This the worst case of fanboyism I've ever witnessed.

Re: Donny Moore is on my bad side..

arizona cardinals defense was solid in the playoffs - heck they went to the SUPER BOWL. we lost to a SUPER BOWL team. 5 interceptions is better than what Peyton Manning or Tom Brady could have done. heck i dont think Drew Brees would be able to throw the ball from the constant pressure from Bert Berry and Darnell Dockett.

I'm beginning to wonder you didnt start this thread and your replies just to get a rise out of people. Serioulsy think about what your saying about your man, Are you serious??? If youre for real about this argument you must watch different NFL games than most of us. And to top it off you used Jake in the same sentence as two of the greatest QB's that will ever play the game...One Word: Homer

You truly believe that Jake Delhomme is better than Manning or Brady or Drew Brees? Then why is your team 0-2? Why does Delhomme not have a ring while Brady and Manning do? Why does Delhommes stats suck while Manning, Brees, and Brady break records? Are you that big of a homer? How come you are the only person in the planet that thinks Delhomme is good? Isnt there something wrong when no one agrees with you?

Re: Donny Moore is on my bad side..

Im sure even Gibran Hamden could do more in the Panthers offense than Jake Delhomo. Who cares what he did years ago. Bottom line is he is washed up and sucks now. A blind baboon could have played better. Only reason he is starter cuz the suck a** Panthers dont have a decent QB to take his place. Look at the bright side though. After they win less than 6 games they'll be able to draft a new QB. Here's a look at Delhomo's last season compared to Drew Brees. He compares so well LOL.

Drew Brees
5,069 Yards
34 TD
17 INT

Jake Delhomme
3,288
15 TD
12 INT

And now a look at this season...

JD: 381 Yards 1 TD 5 INT 45.3 Rating
DB: 669 Yards 9 TD 2 INT 132.9 Rating

Jake has NEVER thrown for 30 TD's in a season. His only season with single digit INT's was when he was hurt and played 3 games in Carolina.

What does Drew Brees' stats have anything to do with Jake Delhomme?

That comparison was never made and proves nothing. The OP never said Delhomme should be a 99.

Look at previous posts. First one implied Delhomme could do better than several record setting QB's. Just used Brees as my example. Brees excluded doesnt erase other facts I made either. Like a 45 QB RATING! His 75 overall rating in Madden is being generous.
