Which NHL Game has the best Create-a-Player/Team Options?

Hey guys!

Alright, I have a question- I was looking to go through and create my universities hockey team on an NHL game, but before I started, I wanted to get opinions from you guys (hockey video game vets) on which game has the deepest Create-a-Player and Create-a-Team options. It can be any year, from EA, 2K, or any other company, it just has to be (in your opinion) the best/deepest. I don't usually mess around with that mode, so that is why I am in the dark about it. Thanks a lot for your help, guys.

Well, I can tell you to NOT use NHL Hitz Pro's create-a-team. You only get like 4 options, and you can only create 20 players. Hitz Pro is a great game, but the rosters definitely hold the game back. At least you can check one off the list.

EA Sports has probably always had the best create-a-team/player historically, in my opinion....at least in other sports genres.

i beileve NHL 06 had a create a team in it. it was pretty good. could even change the horns sound when you got a goal.

2K usually has a way better Create-A-Team mode.

I think it was 2K7 or 2K8 where you could customize jerseys and the arena that they played in. Plus they'd actually have the centre ice logo as your team's logo and not the NHL or EA Sports logo that was found in EA's Create-A-Team mode. 2K always had the historical logos for use as well.

2K10 took a step backwards in the Create-A-Team mode with the lack of customizable arenas and the centre ice logo is always the NHL logo.

Thanks guys, and anyone with a November 2 Remember ECW avatar is tops in my book! Excellent choice, man! And you are right about 2K, I have been trying out their CaT/P, and it is much more advanced than any of the EA games I have tried so far (but I haven't gotten around to 06 or 2004 yet, so the jury is still out, so to speak). I have started creating my team on NHL 2K10 (but I wanted to make them on a different game because I am using 2K10 for my chise story already- love it, but would like to give some of my other hockey games some love as well, lol).
