Re: NHL EHM 2007

question for you, Pinky.

I've heard the term "best player available" (also abbreviated into BPA) thrown around quite often in reference to this game, but...

how do I tell who the BPA really is? Do i look at their game rating (i.e. "superb, very good, etc etc")? Or is there a hidden attribute I should be looking at?

Anyways, another excellent installment to the guide. I would have never guessed to look for those attributes when drafting, that's for sure!

When are you going to start talking about tactics? *drool*

You look at what your scouts say, and just by looking at their stats. And sometimes just the rankings. Its sometimes pretty easy to tell who is good and who isn't when drafting.

Also I forgot to mention, when you start drafting regens (regenerated players), look at their consistency rating too. You don't want a player with very low consistency.

Tactics, I will probably to a basic rundown on tactics, as they are very complicated. And there are many ways to do it.

Re: NHL EHM 2007

For the Most part all i do is Personal tactics, ex in my Flyers one i have Carter: shoot(Barrage), Offensive Mind, Quick tempo, Puck Pressure(High), but the third lines and such defensive mind, tight puck gap, hard checking, etc. go with your players strengths.. For EX Crosby would be passing a lot so put his passing to creative//risky.

Re: NHL EHM 2007

Hey guys, I just purchased this game last week after I was very unhappy with NHL 10 GM mode, I downloaded the 08-09 rosters and want to start a career. Is there anyway to change the start date from Aug. 30/06 to Aug.30/09 or even '08??? I heard if you go into the saves file but I cant find it ???? Thanks.....

Re: NHL EHM 2007

I don't think there is a way TBH. I just download the database and play. the players are aged 3 years so it's not that big of a deal. I have a good Canucks save going on and yes, tactics are a huge part of the game. I am using the red playmover tactic on that ehm forum. If you have a great goalie, solid d-men and skilled forwards, it's a good tactic. You will score a lot, but not get as many shut-outs.

Re: NHL EHM 2007

Also, when you start the game - look at your staff and any staff with low ratings (scouts, assistant GM's, coaches) should be canned and new ones sought.

I found that having an assistant GM with high potential and ability ratings helps you have a better team report as well as trades.

Coaches - make sure you have coaches who cover all areas of skill. Coaches become less effective when they are assigned to more than 4 aspects to train.

Look at what the coaches are good at and have at least 2 working on a particular aspect - ie. skating, tactics, shooting, conditioning, on and on. You will notice more when your players are progressing

Pink Mist - I might shift my scouts - I usually have my scouts assigned to all the major European Leagues although I might switch them to nations. I have 3 scouts assigned to the entry draft and I hire all scouts with at least 17 in both ability and potential. I haven't scouted the colleges although I will assign one for sure to that side

This is a great game and I am helping the ehm forums with getting pictures for new facepacks which should hopefully be released when the 09-10 database is out

For now - my Canucks team is on fire. Sundin (lol) is leading the league in scoring and I have 5 players going to the All-AStar Game - Sundin, Henrik Sedin, Demitra, Luongo, and Ohlund

This game is nice and all, but Kyle Wellwood is not a PPG player IRL - he is over a PPG in my season playing with Sundin and Demitra

Going to start a Pens save just for fun to play with Crosby and Malkin

Re: NHL EHM 2007

I'm sure I know the answer to this but I'm just gonna throw this out there anyways. If anyone happens to have this game and doesn't play it anymore and there's a way you can hook me up with it then yeah, that would be cool.

Re: NHL EHM 2007

I love this game too. It's so much fun and enjoyable. I'm a Football Manager addict so these games are the games I love most - even more so than the console games these days

The best thing is playing EHM while watching Center Ice Awesome
