Summary--
The St. Louis Blue rolled to a 4-3 win on the back of a clutch goal by Patrik Berglund with just 2 seconds left in the third period. Berglund tallied the game tying goal after a point shot deflected through the pads of Osgood, leaving the puck slowing heading toward the goal line where Berglund would beat the clock and bury the puck, sending the contest to OT. The Blues would make no mistake on the PP in overtime as Keith Tkachuk would score on a deflection giving the Blues another win against the struggling Redwings.

The Chicago Blackhawks came on strong from the start, throwing up 21 1st period shots despite only jumping out to a 1-0 lead. The Hawks would also play a very disciplined game, not allowing the Blues a single powerplay on the night while going 2/5 in route to their 16th victory of the young season behind a 3 point night from Pat Kane.

Despite being dominated for a majority of the evening, the Tampa Bay Lightning, on the strength of a pair of third period goals were able to come up with a point out of a game they had no business being in. The Blues out shot the Lightning 45-21, but Smith would stop 41 of 45 shots as Tampa moves to 20-13-2 in the first half of the campaign. Vincent Lecavalier was issued a Game Misconduct for a slash on Barret Jackman who will miss the next 3-4 weeks with a wrist sprain. TJ Oshie would score again, setting a new career high with his 15th goal of the season.
The Blues are heading on a 4-game road trip which will take them to Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary...with a final affair with the Wild in Minnesota.
Barrett Jackman will miss the next 3-4 weeks with a wrist sprain sustained from a slash from Vinny Lecavalier. Jackman has registered 1 goal and 6 assists in 33 games with 52 PIM's and a -2 rating.
Moving up to get some more ice time will be Alex Pietrangelo who has been solid in 24 games this season, notching a 2 goals and 6 assists with a -5.

Yeah...I've been fortunate that my forwards have stayed healthy. And yes, I'll do reports at the 41-game marker with news from around the league and the team...a report at the 60 game marker (or most likely the trade deadline)...and then, of course, the end of the season with a playoff preview.

Also unfortunate for Vancouver was the loss of Daniel Sedin after a hit from David Backes that will cost the Canucks forward as much as two weeks on the DL. Patrick Berglund notched four points (1G, 3 A) on the night while Ty Conklin was solid, stopping 38 of 42 Vancouver shots in the win.

The Buffalo Sabres would get 4 goals from Drew Stafford in a 4-3 win over the Blues tonight including the game winning goal with 7 seconds left in regulation. Stafford not only scored four goals, but he scored four goals on four shots. The Blues would get 2 goals from Jay McClement while Ty Conklins struggles continue, stopping just 24 of 28 on the night.

The rivalry between the Nashville Predators and St. Louis Blues is alive and well as the Blues scored 3 third period goals to beat the Preds by a 4-2 count. The Blues cashed in on a hot PP tonight as three powerplay goals propelled St. Louis to a win they may have not otherwise deserved as Chicago outshot the Blues 35-20 on the night. Chris Mason's stellar performance in the net for the Note was key to the win as he would stop 33 of 35. The Blues, of late, have been fortunate in games where they've been mightily outshot.
