The OS Golfers Thread PT 2. The "Where do you play?" edition

What is your home course and what courses do you recommend that are reasonable in price?

My home course is St. Andrews Golf Course in Overland Park, KS. It's one of the best municipal courses you can find in the state, honestly. It's got a great price of about $27 without carts, then usually around $40 with carts for 18 holes.

My home course is The Links at Hemlock Creek in Bloomsburg. It's a small course (Par 66, nine Par 3's), but great for beginners such as myself. Very cheap as well at $25 for 18 with a cart and the new owners have done a good with the place. I've also played at:

Arnold's Golf Course (Nescopeck, PA)
Rolling Pines Golf Course (Berwick, PA)
Liberty Valley Country Club (Danville, PA)
Sand Springs Golf Course (Drums, PA)
Blue Ridge Trail Golf Club (Mountain Top, PA)
Bucknell Golf Club (Lewisburg, PA)
Watkins Glen Golf Course (Watkins Glen, NY)
Trumansburg Golf Club (Trumansburg, NY)

Out of those I'd definitely recommend Bucknell, Sand Springs, and Blue Ridge Trail to anyone. A little pricey, but very nice.

This is not where I play but back in 2002 I played maybe the nicest course in Northern Calif at Bodega Bay. If ever in Northern Ca please play this course. Damn near 10-13 holes you are facing the ocean. The view is simply incredible so much as I forgot I was there to play golf.

I don't really have a home course, but the two nearby that I generally play at are:

St. John Fisher Golf Course; Pittsford, NY (also where the Buffalo Bills training camp is). It's only a 9 hole course and it isn't really kept all that great, but it's cheap and really nice for someone like me who has hand issues to deal with so 18 holes is pretty tough on me.

Durand Eastman Golf Club; Irondequoit, NY

This is the 18 hole course that I generally go to. It's right down the street from my house and this one is pretty beautiful in my opinion. Only negative is that one of the holes is next to a sewage plant, but the back 9 especially is a really nice view, and the course is kept much better than St. John Fisher.

There's another course in Pittsford that the PGA tour or the LPGA tour comes to every year I think. I've never been there though.

If you're in SoCal, specifically the LA area or Valley, make the drive up the 405/5/14 to Santa Clarita to Robinson Ranch GC. Two 18-hole courses, both really nice, set up in the high desert mountains, and $50 with a cart and a small bucket of range balls. In the LA area, that's the best you're gonna do.

Rustic Canyon is also very nice in Simi Valley, definitely worth a round.

Re: The OS Golfers Thread PT 2. The "Where do you play?" edition

Just shot a 88 at Brook Hills in Brookville, Indiana. My iron game was "SHOT" The course only played around 6200 yrds so I am a little disappointed. I gotta remember that this is just my 2nd week back playing after being away for about 3 yrs so 88 is ok I guess. I was decent off the tee avg around 260-270 and fairly straight. Short game sucked

Going out tomorrow and playing a "Goat Track" in Hamilton, Oh. The course is "Twin Run" Hopefully my iron/short game is better.

Re: The OS Golfers Thread PT 2. The "Where do you play?" edition

I don't have a home course, but the two I play most frequently are Broken Tee Golf Course in Englewood, CO and Park Hill Golf Course just outside of downtown Denver. Both are relatively cheap. I think it's $45 for 18 with a cart at Park Hill on the weekends, and around $38 on weekdays.

I cheat Broken Tee as I only pay for 9 holes but play 18 (the turn is about 1/2 mile from the clubhouse and they never have anyone monitoring it), so it only costs me about $25 to play 18 with a cart. And the course is kept up really well.

There are some really nice courses in the suburbs around Denver that are good values, as well. The Meadows is the first one that comes to mind, though it's pretty tough so I don't play it too much.
