3-6 months is what I will play a sports game because by then I have seen everything in the game and done it all, but this yr with 2k12 basketball the my player mode, I will play that until the new NBA live comes out.

NBA 2K all year long, but FIFA about 8 months and FM(every year whole year, but this year...) 4 months.

I usually play NBA 2K from release until the next one comes out, pretty consistently. As far as other games are concerned, I tend to not play The Show after baseball ends, same for Madden and NCAA. FIFA and NHL I play almost as much as 2K but I don't usually get those games the day they come out.

FIFA Vita I've been playing since the day I got my Vita(a few weeks after it came out)and usually on my console I play 6-8 months hardcore(nothing else)then I frequently put it back in and play it again for a week or two, play something else, come back to it, on and on. Lather, rinse, repeat. I'm hoping to spend 10+ months on NCAA hardcore though.

It really depends on how good the game is. This past year only a few weeks and then sold them. Madden12 and NCAA12 turned out not to be all that good to me. So I gave up and sold them both after playing them a few weeks. But if things go right for NCAA13 and Madden13 this year. I will play them for most of this coming year.

I'm usually good for one season in franchise mode.

I'm usually in the 3-6 months crowd, but this OS Vets season has been jam packed with highlights, killer story lines, and has been so interactive, that I don't plan on selling madden 12 like I did the others.

Usually around Christmas, or a little after the Super Bowl my madden is sold for a premium, but this year is different. When you find that golden franchise, the game itself can be golden!

We have over 100+ pages of nothing but highlights. LOL

Re: How long do you typically play a new sports game?

I've played madden 12 longer than any madden to this point. I cut ties with NCAA 12 once they killed it with a horrible patch. And I have played MLB 10: The Show for 2 years now.

So I am all over the place.

NCCA FB less than 2 Months (Probably wont buy again)
NBA 2k12 6-12 Months
Madden 6-12 Months
MLB 10: The Show 2+Years

lol
