Which of the major sports had the best 2009 in sports gaming?

I suppose I'm in the minority, but the overall package presented by Madden 10 makes it a quantum leap ahead of any other next-gen football game I've ever played, and the best football game to-date.

If by best you mean "the greatest total improvement compared to the previous iteration", then for me at least it is undoubtedly the Madden franchise and football in general. No other sports title improved as dramatically as Madden did.

While I love The Show... Madden gets most my playing time due to online and the franchise is better than the Shows unfortunately. So I choose football.

Can't wait for the next Show though...

NHL 10

It is the class of sports games. The Show is great, but even NHL 10's Be A Pro mode is better than The Road to the Show.

I may never play a baseball or football game again.

And from what I've seen, soccer is probably the real answer. But I hate soccer.

Hockey
Boxing
Golf
Baseball

Basketball can make the list if the new NCAA game is solid.

The Show and FIFA '10 were definitely head and shoulders above anything else out there this year (possibly other than NHL '10, which I don't own but have played quite a bit and do enjoy, though). In terms of their competitors, though, PES is much more respectable than 2k's baseball game. Also, FIFA is available on more platforms than The Show (obviously), so I give footie the nod.
