Re: Which speed setting is the best in Madden NFL 10?

My biggest gripe with slow is that the pass rush is pretty much non-existent.

Guys now have 5+ seconds to sit in the pocket without flinching and just wait until somebody is bound to get open. It's ridiculous.

Online needs to be on normal, or there should at least be an option for unranked games to be played on Normal.

you didnt fix anything. you can say a whole 5%, 10% or even 1%. the point is you said it felt like 09 and you are wrong. its slower than 09, according to EA of course. by your theory, EA could make it 5% faster than 09 and I guess you wouldnt be able to tell the difference from 09 either correct? i seriously doubt it would feel like 09 if they did that.

Sure I did.My point is Madden 09 is a terrible gm(IMO) and playing on normal/fast reminds(me)not you of Madden 09.And If they made it 5% faster I wouldnt bother playing it because that would just compund the other issues.I like what M10 has improved upon and I will leave it at that.

Steve,

I would have to say Normal also. The timing is off on slow because the WR does not get to the stop quick enough and the QB still have much zip on the pass. Also, its just too easy to read the defense and too much time to throw the ball..

I agree that madden 09 was a terrible game. I stopped playing in Sept. It's wasn't because of the speed of the game though. It was the gameplay itself was bad.

So if I understand you correctly, you stop playing madden last year just because of the speed? It wasn't the sucky gameplay? Had they made 09 slow, you would have thought it was a good game? What about during the PS2 days? The game was pretty fast then. Did you enjoy it?

Of course at the end of the day we will agree to disagree, but most online players seem to prefer normal while I've seen a few people mention they prefer slow, but they play strictly offline. But this vote only affects online anyway.

Normal, normal, normal.

KR's are so easy on slow mode, i had 3 in one game, 2 in another....that's a bit unrealistic....especially when one of my KR's, my opponent purposely kept a guy back to prevent it and still couldn't because of the speed.

I haven't had any in normal but I was close to breaking some...the speed seems more realistic.

the pass rush is realistic on normal...no way a QB should have 5 seconds all the time in the pocket...that's ridiculous...that leads to offenses being too arcadey...way too much time to sit in the pocket, more time to find an open man, ALL THE TIME.

There is nothing to dissagree about.Your view is just as valid as mine. Game speed wasnt the "only" issue for Madden 09.It was unplayable completely for me,I only had it for about 2days.I liked the ps2 version as well it had a different feel (IMO).I only play online against friends. If the super LB,DB interactions were adjusted then mabe, just mabe I wouldnt mind playing at a faster speed so my solution for now is to play S L O W.I leave the setting on All-Madden against User and All-pro vs CPU.

I was very pleased to see the options to set speed in this years Madden. Normal is suitable for me.
