Re: Back Breaker Update Thread

even though even my patience is running low there is a valid point. they are bulding a game not just re modeling it like EA sports. The engine is entirley different. Grand theft auto 4 which uses a similar euphoria engine for graphics took around 3 years. what can you exect there trying to make the game good

Re: Back Breaker Update Thread

EA should just co-exist w/ NaturalMotion/Euphoria engine. This would be the best addition for EA imo. No more Canned animations EA, we want realism, we want sim. Canned animations are not for NG gaming!

For anyone that doesn't know who NaturalMotion is http://www.naturalmotion.com/company.htm

The problem is EA can't program to save their lives. Sure you can give them a supped up engine but if they don't have the talent, nor want to in order to do something with it then it'll just be a waste.

Simply look at what has been done with the Unreal engine; it's been in the hands of multiple developers and each has been able to squeeze so many different things from it due to talent & innovation. You really can't say EA would actually do something with NM based off the long history with many of their titles. (Examples of UE in games: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unreal_Engine)

Nice read, I agree it takes the right team. Looks like the devo team for Euphoria has got a decent chance to finally give us a sports game that has real-time physics.
I'm all for any devo team that is trying to bring us a sports game that can guarantee different animations on every play. No more of the same repetitive play over and over.

It only makes sense for EA to go this way now b/c they seem to waste alot of time and money on the canned animations. I read the euphoria team has about 70 people working on it now. I hope they can find a place in the sports gaming world.

If EA does anything, they should consider this before any thing else imo. CAN the "canned" animations EA.

This is a work in progress http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gXDhjVCqhI

For the ones that aren't sure yet, this was posted on here some weeks ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpxW9kckvpM&NR=1

Re: Back Breaker Update Thread

Canned tackling animations are one of the worst part of Madden right now for sure.

Nothing sucks more than hitting a RB who has no momentum then watching him get 3-4 bonus yards because it triggered a favorable animation where he falls forward for extra yards.

Yes you did, my bad. It was on youtube some weeks ago. Still good to see they haven't stopped working on this game.

I will buy this game just b/c of the real-time physics and couple that w/ online play, it will be worth it to me.
Of course it will take alot of supporters before EA changes anything w/ there engine. I was thinking if EA is too stubborn to change the physics engine, maybe 2k sports would consider using Euphoria engine sometime in the near future.

I belive anyone that has played Madden enough would agree the physics are killing the game.
Yep the plays when you are falling back(your the ballcarrier) and you hit the stick up and all of the sudden your momentum shifts to falling forward.

If EA doesn't want to change there physics engine, maybe another big name
sports gaming co.(2k) would.

Re: Back Breaker Update Thread

This game is gonna have total customization correct? So roster makers will be able to work their magic. I'll be playing this instead of Madden once the rosters get edited.
Has there been any info released about the customization of the uniforms/stadiums? They may even give us all that as well, kind of like TeamBuilder. If that's the case, we're in good shape.
