The legacy of head coach Tyrell Osborne

Coming off a win in the 2012 Rose Bowl, the Ducks were on top of the world, and one big reason it happened was because assistant head coach Tyrell Osborne. Going into the NFL off season the Jacksonville Jaguars got new ownership, and with new ownership came a new head coach, and what new better coach then one of the best college teams head coach! Oregon's head coach Chip Kelley declined the offer, but recommended assistant head coach me, Tyrell Osborne. After a few interviews, i was hired by Shahid Khan, the new owner.

Going into the the off season, i knew i had a lot of work ahead of me, for one our star running back was holding out for a new contract, for two, our rookie quarter back had a horrible season and hopefully he can turn it around this season, and for three our new star wide out Justin Blackmon got a DUI and i don't know how the leagues gonna handle it, got a lot of work ahead of me.

Through the preseason we ended up going 1-3. MJD still hasn't played a down, Blaine Gabbert has been mediocre at best. I was just told by by the owner to trade Maurice Jones Drew since he believes that players should honor their contract and Jones Drew aint budging.

A week before the season started I was told by Khan that we traded Jones Drew to the Jets for a first round pick in the upcoming draft, i was also told that we should look to provide depth at running back and wide outs, and i had control of who we get.

After a while of thinking who we should get, i decided to sign T.O. He just got cut by the Seahawks and Pete Carrol said he was a new man, did everything he asked. During the preseason he did drop a few passes but did overall pretty good.

Also looking to get depth, we also decided to sign Chris Rainey. Rainey came out of Florida and was to say the least a game changer, he might not start, but his speed is impressive to say the least, lets just see if he can stay healthy.

The first game was just a disaster, Gabbert did throw for 315 yards, but he also threw 5 picks. Also no rusher ran for more than 34 yards.. On a plus side we held them to only 128 yards, but then again it is the Vikings.

Going into week 2 i knew we needed do something that could bring hope to this team, and that was to trade for one of my favorite players coaching, Lamichael James. James was fourth on the depth chart (due to an off season full of fumbles), and was only getting used on punts and kicks, there was no way he was going to get playing time with 3 very capable running backs with the 49ers. Lamichael is a very talented kid, and with a team weak at running back, he could be the game changer we need. Lamichael came out of Oregon as the teams leading rusher. He ran for over 5 thousand yards in just 3 seasons! He averaged 6.6 yards per carry, and rushed for 53 touchdowns.

Overall we played pretty good. Our defense allowed under 300 yards, and held the Colts in check on the ground allowing less than 70 yards. Gabbert threw for a TD and for 219 yards, and Lamike ran for 87 yards on 28 carrys, either way a wins a win!
