Air Force wins the C-USA Title at 11-2 (8-1) and is voted in to replace Houston 2-8 (1-8) in the Big 12.

Clemson finishes the season ranked #5.

It's hard to believe it's already been five years. It's been a wild ride. A combined record of 60-9, the best in college football. Four titles, five bowl wins and a Heisman. Boy, could that kid run. Tracy's a great kid, and he is representing the Redhawks well in the NFL. I could not have asked for a better mentor or friend through the years than Don Treadwell. I am very proud to have been beside him on the sidelines for four fantastic seasons. Thankful that he gave me a shot when no one else would. Grateful to be a part of two Coach of the Year staffs. I'm sure he will get the team turned around again next season. Should Don ever retire, I would love to come back to Miami University. I'm glad most everyone there understands why I had to leave. Some people may call me a quitter. They may say that I left because we missed promotion twice. I'll be honest, it was very difficult and disappointing. Would I have stayed had we been promoted to the Big Ten? Perhaps.

Either way, I needed to make a name for myself. I had to prove I could do it in a power conference. Clemson was a great fit. They had been getting so close to the ACC Championship. Willie Simmons was great to work with. We just clicked. That's a great way to describe the season, too. Everything just clicked. Cole Stoudt was one of the finest quarterbacks I have worked with. Justin Roberson reminded me a lot of Tracy. It all came down to the South Carolina game at the end of the season. Whoever won that game would go on to the ACC Championship. The boys really delivered. I can't speak enough about the Defensive Coordinators I've worked with over the years. They have put together some really dominant squads. Steve Ellis had his guys shut down Virginia Tech. He had his guys shut down Pittsburgh. What a memorable game. Charone Peake ran faster than anyone I've ever seen on that last catch.

I couldn't coach the offense for three more years in Clemson. It was a fantastic season. I did what I came to do. I was the missing link to an ACC-Championship and Orange Bowl winning program. My time as an offensive coordinator is surely approaching it's end. But not for at least one more season. I go west, to the Golden Bears of California. Bring on the PAC-12.
