Football Dynasties>Las Vegas Aces (Madden 2010)
CharlieBrown 01:39 AM 10-27-2009

GAME: Madden NFL 2010
DIFFICULTY: All-Pro
SLIDERS: None
MINUTES PER QUARTER: 12 Mins, 20 Secs Accelerated

PRE-SEASON: I actually play Pre-Season to determine who gets cut and who stays. I won't recap each Pre-Season game, instead, I'll recap the Pre-Season as a whole.
TRADES: Only used through Trade Block
PLAY CALL: I use "Ask Madden" and I pick from the three plays given for both offense and defense. Must use Offensive and Defensive Playbook of Coordinators.
HOT ROUTES: Used only on one player per play.

GAME PLAY: I sim all kickoffs and punts in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters so some can be returned for TDs by both myself and the computer. I return all kickoffs and punts in 4th quarter and Overtime. I sim all Extra Point attempts.

SEASON: I only keep the minimum required players on roster (2 QBs, 3 RBs, 1 FB, etc.) so that Pre-Season does have an impact of who I release. In terms of roster transactions, I never consider the overall ratings, just the current and past statistics of the players.

SCOUTING: No scouting. I also don't follow the predicted drafted round (IE. If Sam Bradford was predicted to go in the 6th round and I wanted him, I'd draft him in the 1st round to make it more realistic. If he dropped to, say the 6th round, I would not pick him up. The Draft's a crapshoot in real life anyways.

Good Grief Charlie Brown!
St. Louis Rams sold to Billionaire Extraordinaire

Las Vegas, NV (AP)

After going 13-35 in the last three years, St. Louis Rams' owner, Chip Rosenbloom has decided to sell his team to Billionaire, Charlie Brown - a man with every intention to move the Rams to Las Vegas, Nevada. This will be the fourth location for the Rams, after spending time in Cleveland, Los Angeles, and of course, St. Louis.

"I am very excited to have a team here in Vegas," said the man listed in the Forbes' 400. "We will have a very promising franchise."

Although their will be a team in Las Vegas, it will not consist of the Rams' roster or staff. In actuality, the Rams will not even exist as the team will be renamed the Las Vegas Aces.

All players currently under contract with the Rams will be released and allocated to free agency. The Aces will be eligible to sign any former Rams player after the completion of Free Agency.

Marc Bulger and Co. will need to find work elsewhere

Once dubbed "The Greatest Show on Turf", the team has been cellar dwellers in the NFC West the past couple of seasons.

The Las Vegas Aces will announce their new 53-man roster that will head into Pre-Season in the upcoming weeks.

Jeff Garcia Finds a New Home in Vegas

Pre-Season's a Wrap
Aces trim roster to 45

Las Vegas, NV (AP)

"Jeff Garcia will be our starter for our opener against the Seattle Seahawks," beamed Owner/Coach Charlie Brown. Garcia performed well in Pre-Season, completing 30 of 48 passes for 459 yards, 4 TDs, and 1 INT, edging out Alex Brink, Chase Daniel, and Rhett Bomar for QB1.

However, the MVP of Pre-Season was QB D.J. Shockley. Shockley shocked the team, including Coach Brown, in a variety of ways. He was 7 of 11 for 72 yards and a touchdown at QB, rushed for 108 yards and 3 TDs in the Wildcat formation - known in Vegas as the "Royal Flush" - and led the team with 18 receptions, 242 receiving yards, and 2 TDs. He also added 2 punt returns for 5 yards and 2 special teams tackles.

Can Garcia quarterback the Aces to victories?

Said Coach Brown, "D.J. is a very special player and asset to his team. Our very own version of "Slash" (referring to Kordell Stewart of Pittsburgh fame) and he will find playing time at many position this season."

Among the cuts going into the Regular Season include the following (Pre-Season Stats included):

QB Rhett Bomar: 26/43, 251 Yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
QB Chase Daniel: 31/49, 352 Yards, 0 TD, 4 INT
QB Andre Woodson: 6/18, 122 Yards, 0 TD, 1 INT
RB J.J. Arrington: 10 Rush, 90 Yards, 1 TD
WR Marques Hagans: 8 Rec, 51 Yards
WR Ronald Curry: 8 Rec, 105 Yards
FB Billy Latsko: 5 Rec, 53 Yards; 2 Rush, 3 Yards
LB Jorge Cordova: 7 Tackles
LB Prescott Burgess: 0 Tackles
FS Tuff Harris: 0 Tackles

This will not be the end of roster transactions, however, as the Aces are now eligible to sign any players left over from the Rams former roster.

Las Vegas Sign 2
Aces Lose Carter

September 12, 2009
Las Vegas, NV (AP)

With just one day before their Season Opener, the Las Vegas Aces have signed DE Chris Long and OT Alex Barron, releasing rookies: OT Alex Boone and DE Marcus Howard.

Long and Barron were part of the Rams' Organization last year and will start tomorrow against the Seahawks.

The signing of Chris Long comes in good timing as the team has lost DE Kevin Carter for 7 weeks with a torn quadricep.

Kevin Carter will be out approximately 2 months

Las Vegas releases Depth Chart

September 12, 2009
Las Vegas, NV

(AP) With Charlie Brown temporarily coaching the Las Vegas Aces, he will instill a "Run N' Gun" offensive philosophy and will anchor the defense in a "3-4" scheme until the Off-Season when he will have sufficient funds to go after big name coaches. Until then, his team will rely on short, accurate passes and a variety of blitz packages to lead the Aces to victory.

Additionally, the team has an offensive formation known as the "Royal Flush", their own rendition of the "Wildcat" offense of Dolphins' fame. Receiver, D.J. Shockley will lead this package.

Week 1 Preview
Las Vegas Aces (0-0) @ Seattle Seahawks (0-0)

September 12, 2009
Seattle, WA

(AP) The newest NFL team will travel to the Pacific Northwest to face their NFC West rival, the Seattle Seahawks. QB Matt Hasselbeck is coming an injury plagued '08 campaign, and will attempt to pick apart the Aces' defense with coveted free agent WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

Lofa Tatupu is quickly becoming
one of the best inside linebackers in the NFL

LB Lofa Tatupu leads a punishing linebacker core with Leroy Hill and rookie Aaron Curry on the outside.

Las Vegas QB Jeff Garcia will try to resurrect his career with the Aces, starting in a Run 'N Gun offensive system. Veteran LBs Zach Miller, Donnie Edwards, and Derrick Brooks will anchor the defense.

KEYS TO SUCCESS
The Flop
Defense is always the key to victory. The Aces will need to shut down T.J. Houshmandzadeh if they want the win. CB Ricky Manning will have his hands full.

The Turn

Keep the mistakes to a minimum, especially on offense. On paper, the Seahawks are among the top in the league with DE Patrick Kerney, LB Lofa Tatupu, and CB Marcus Trufant.

The River
Have fun! It's the season opener and the best way to get rid of first game jitters to just leave it all on the field.

Battle in Seattle
Aces fumble away victory in OT, 45-48

September 13, 2009
Seattle, WA

(AP) In what could have been the first upset of the year, finished up as a thrilling win for the Seattle Seahawks in overtime.

Amidst the fourth quarter at a 45-21 deficit, Seattle overcame adversity to put up 24 points in 4 minutes to push the game to overtime.

Boss Bailey's 2 TDs on defense
were not enough to score the "W"

IT WAS OVER WHEN...
Aces KR Justin Miller fumbled the opening OT kick at the Aces 30 yard line. Seahawks K Olindo Mare booted a 29 yard field goal just seconds later for the win.

GAME BALL
Seahawks WR Ben Obomanu's only stat was a forced fumble, but the one that put Seattle in position for victory.

KEY STAT
Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck passed for 408 yards on 25 of 37 completions for 4 TDs.

NOTEWORTHY
Aces WR D.J. Shockley fumbled the ball after a 22 yard reception in regulation that could have potentially put Las Vegas in field goal range for the win... The Aces first TD came off a Boss Bailey Pick-Six in the first quarter. Bailey also returned a fumble for a 33 yard TD in the fourth quarter.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Las Vegas will travel to another Washington - D.C. - to face Clinton Portis and the Redskins.

Aces Sign Safety
Release KR Justin Miller

September 14, 2009
Las Vegas, NV

(AP) It's just a few hours after the loss and CB/KR Justin Miller will need to find a new home. After allowing 408 passing yards by Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck, Las Vegas has come to terms with SS Gerald Alexander.

Gerald Alexander will start next week

Alexander, 25, was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this week and will start next week against the Washington Redskins. Marlon McCree will move to Free Safety and Von Hutchins will start at Cornerback opposite DeAngelo Smith.

Justin Miller fumbled a kick return in OT yesterday, allowing Seattle to kick in a chip shot field goal for the win.

Week 2 Preview
Las Vegas Aces (0-1) @ Washington Redskins (1-0)

September 19, 2009
Washington, D.C.

(AP) Las Vegas will travel to D.C. in search of their first victory against Washington, but will face a very hungry team led by RB Clinton Portis who ran for 95 yards and touchdown in his last game. QB Jason Campbell is right there with him, putting up a 103.1 QB Rating in their 36-7 win against the Giants.

The One Hundred Million Dollar Man

KEYS TO SUCCESS

The Flop
RB Warrick Dunn was held to just 38 yards and will have trouble against the Redskins with DT Albert Haynesworth plugging up the middle. Short passes, accurate must be thrown in replacement of the running game.

The Turn

Take care of the football. The Aces turned the ball over 4 times against the Seahawks last week. This needs to be avoided.

The River

Contain QB Jason Campbell. After allowing Hasselbeck to pick apart the secondary last week, we need to come up big this game.
