Re: Meet the new Green Bay Packers (Madden 10 Fantasy Dynasty)

Ok that's all the updates for tonight. My question to you guys reading is that I want to create a "Power" ranking and give you a lowdown on which teams in the league have an overall better teams than the rest.

I was thinking of taking the NFL rankings for each of the stats I list just for my Packers above and then dividing that number by the number of stat categories I used. I don't know if the NFL uses a similar thing and I am willing to spend some time on doing that for you guys.

For everyone reading if you could please respond and let me know if you'd be interested in seeing something like that. For example the Packer's "Power" rating is 14.6. Now it doesn't mean that the packers are the 14th or 15th best team, it's just a number to sort. The number 1 team will probably have a ranking of like 8 or 9. I can compile them all and compare all teams in the league. This may help gauge what teams will make the playoffs and possible who can make it to the superbowl.

Like I said, just let me know. I don't wanna spend time doing something like that if it isn't something you guys would be interested in. I know that would amuse me doing it even though it'll take like 2 hours to compile all the stats.

But thanks for following any and all of you who do.....

Re: Meet the new Green Bay Packers (Madden 10 Fantasy Dynasty)

I was just looking over my predictions versus the actual final score, and I do have to say my predictions are fairly accurate on final score, I've gotten the wrong winning team 3 times but the overall points scored are pretty good.

Game 1: +12 points
Game 2: +12 Points
Game 3: +11 Points
Game 4: +7 Points
Game 5: +4 Points
Game 6: +5 Points

Maybe I'll get an exact score plus winning team in the next few games.

Oh, also for the pre-game I'm adding Rankings so you know if the #1 offense is going against the #1 defense and so on. I think thats a good stat to add. Also let me know if you want Power Rankings from the previous post.

Wooooo off to work on a Sunday, thanks guys....

Re: Meet the new Green Bay Packers (Madden 10 Fantasy Dynasty)

Well I was bored at work today and I probably won't get another game in til wednesday but I was wondering how many NFL teams is my Dynasty representing at the moment.

I have covered 26 of the current 32 NFL teams, I don't have players from the Bills, Redskins, Falcons, Bucaneers, Packers (lol), and Seahawks.

I have also noticed that I have 4 players that aren't even in the NFL at the moment. J.J Arrington, Bubba Franks, Patrick Surtain, and Plackemeier. So what I want to do is pick up some FA to replace these players and then lower the current non NFL players in the depth chart so in the offseason they will retire or I will release them. If I wasn't past the trading deadline I would trade them for lower round draft picks....but now that I remember you can use the trading block to trade players, so I might do that.....atleast for Arrington and Plackemeier because those two are just on the FA market. Franks and Surtain I believe are retired...

Re: Meet the new Green Bay Packers (Madden 10 Fantasy Dynasty)

Sorry for the lack of updates this week, I'm looking into getting a "Newpaper" format for my posts. I'm not having too much luck as you can see above when I edited the video highlights from my last game. I'm doing all this in HTML because it's the language I know, but I'm having formatting problems with my tables. I will continue to work with this so my posts can be more visually stimulating....

Keys to the game

Vikings beat Green Bay for their only win. Green Bay needs to control the Vikes run game.
Vikings need to run the ball so they can open up something for their passing game. Get Vick involved.
Packers need to give the ball to McFadden and let him have a field day on the 20th rank rush defense.

Predicted Final Score:

Vikings 24
Packers 34

Re: Meet the new Green Bay Packers (Madden 10 Fantasy Dynasty)

First Half Highlights:

This is gonna be an exciting game. McFadden is already lighting up the stats and the scoreboard. Takes a toss to the right side and carries it 71 yards for the score. It was only the 2nd play from the line of scrimmage.

McFadden tries to recreate it on the Packers next possession but boots the ball and Vikings pick it up and run it back for a TD. BUT WAIT! Holding on the Vikings?!?! Minnesota still gets the ball but no touchdown.

Vikings can't do anything for the second time and punts the ball. Green Bay is making this a "big play" day as Brees completes a 66 yarder to his rookie WR Percy Harvin to set up for McFadden's second TD of the day, this time it's in the air rather than on the ground. Or is it pass? Apparently McFadden was behind the LOS when catching the ball so it ends up being a run for his 2nd rushing TD.

Minnesota finally passes into Green Bay territory on the back of Michael Vick because the Vikes running game is being stopped by the Packers. But Green Bay stops them at the 40 and they have to punt again. When the Packers get the ball back they end up bringing it into the red zone and for the first time the Vikings actually stopped them and left them with a field goal instead.

Vikings are now bringing in the run game between Moreno and Jackson they are stomping down the field 4 yards here, 7 yards there. Packers stop them on a 4th and inches and the Vikings end up punting the ball. Or so you thought. It's a fake, but it was botched as the WRs never got off the line and the Punter decided to run it. Didn't get anywhere. Packers ball.

55 yards to go for another TD and Brees does it all in the air....except for a 2nd and goal play. Brees.....runs it? He can run? Who would have known. Took the shotgun snaps and runs it up the gut for the 3rd rushing TD of the day for the Pack.

Vikings try to make a last second hail mary pass but ends up getting sacked. HALFTIME 24-0 Pack

Packers Player of the Half
HB Darren McFadden
9 rushes, 96 yards, 2 TD
1 catch, 39 yards

Vikings Player of the Half
HB Knowshon Moreno
15 rushes, 52 yards

Second Half Highlights

Michael Vick can pass the ball believe it or not. Forty-nine yard pass to rookie WR Jeremy Maclin. They go for 2 points and fails. Why go for two? I don't understand because they are down by so much. But there goes the shutout.

This quarter is sooooooo boring. Just going back and forth. Near the end of the third the Vikings make another great drive which ends up with a 2 yard run by Moreno for 6. 24-13 is the score now. Only down by 11 points!

On a 3 and out by the Packers they end up punting the ball and Jeremy Maclin takes the punt return to the 7 yard line to set up for another Vikings score. Packers defense is tight and stops them to only a field goal. Vikings only down by 8 points now. Wow didn't expect this.

After a 2nd missed field goal the Packers give the ball back to Minnesota with 7 minutes to go. Vikings drive to inside the 10 yard line with the Packers stopping them on 3rd down, but wait....."Personal Foul, facemask, defense...half the distance to the goal. FIRST DOWN!" Vikings get another 4 downs to get in the endzone and this time they do it. This time its Fred Jackson and again miss the conversion. Vikings now down by only 2 points.

To try to run some time down and get Vikings to burn some TO's the Packers decide to run for 3 straight downs. The didn't get the first down but were able to get the clock down to 1:36 left. Vikings start their drive but with the innaccuracy of their mobile QB Vick throws an INT to Kevin Payne to almost seal the deal for the Packers win. Packers are able to run the clock down to 19 seconds.

Vikings with the ball on their own 45 and 19 seconds to go. Down 1 and down 2 are incomplete. 1 last chance and Vick hit's Crumpler over the middle but with no timeouts the clock runs out and the game goes to the Packers. 24-22. Ugly second half.

Packers Coach Mike McCarthy:

"There was two games that happened today. 1st Half and 2nd Half. In the 1st half we had the Green Bay Packers vs. the 1-6 Minnesota Vikings. In the 2nd half it was the Green Bay pop-warner team against the Minnesota Vikings from the 70's. We were lucky....I repeat....LUCKY.....to get out today with a win. I'm not happy and my team will have a lot of work to do. There is 60 minutes in a football game and we only showed up for 30. If I had the power I would cut their paychecks in half this week because they only showed up to do half the work. Pitiful...."

Packers' HB Darren McFadden on his performance today:

"Sure I've been playing well for a few weeks now but we need to be more productive. This is a team game and if one aspect of our team is not living up to potential then none of us are living up to our potential. We need to practice hard this week because next week we are going against the #1 rated team in power rankings this year in Tampa Bay. Battle of the Bays!"

Chris Davies, Packers fan for 20 years:

"Well a 5-2 record I am happy with. I don't care how they do it but as long as they get that win. Today's game was ugly and I wish my son, Tim, didn't watch it because he still has hopes for the Packers. He doesn't know about the heartache that a Green Bay fan has to endure throughout the years of following this team. I love my Packers now lets get those Bucs, woooooooo..."
