Sounds like this kid is more screwed up now than before.
He's still sticking to his claim that his biological father Steve Jefferson was the intended target.
However, when the Fifth Estate interviewed the intended hitman and showed him a picture of Danton's agent, David Frost, the hitman confirmed that he was the target.
Frost himself, in taped prison phone conversations, even asked Danton if 'he should be worried?".

I'm fairly convinced that Frost sexually abused Danton and it has him all screwed up. It's also allowed Frost to have a crazy mental chokehold on him.

Who else here thinks that we're not done hearing from Danton and that he'll probably end up in jail again - for murdering his dad or Frost.

No matter how many times it's explained to me, I'll never understand the reason for fights in a game. As I understand, these guys fight to "protect" their star players from getting roughed up. I still don't understand how fighting takes care that.

I only see major disadvantages to fighting. First your player has a chance to get beat up pretty good. Then theres the penalty minutes. And most important of all, giving up a power play to the opposing team. That just happened as I watch SJ vs. CBJ, Staubitz wanted to be an az which in turn help his team give up an easy PP goal. I can't believe what a momentum killer that was...stupid play.

Personally I could do without the fighting, it adds nothing to the game other than the continuation of tradition. I'd take the Sharks trashing a team on the scoreboard over a Shark winning a pointless fight anyday.

I hope Staubitz fights again so he can get his dummaz kicked.

Nice PP Goal by Nash. I thought plays like that were only possible in NHL 10.

This happened on Friday night during an OHL game. Scary, scary hit. Ben Fanelli (the guy that got hit) has a fractured skull, face lacerations and fractured orbital bone and is still in the hospital.

Mike Liambas (the one that made the hit) got suspended for the entire season plus playoffs and his major junior career is over.

Fanelli is a 16 year old and Liambas is 20.
Sean Avery might have been trying to keep a lower profile since returning to the NHL with the New York Rangers last March, but he still has a mean streak.

The much publicized forward reportedly took some verbal shots at Washington Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau in the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs last season.

According to an excerpt of Boudreau's new book, Gabby: Confessions of a Hockey Lifer, obtained by The Washington Times, Avery made disparaging comments about the weight of the Capitals' coach during Game 7.

"He told me I was the biggest, fattest bleeping pig he had ever seen," recounted Boudreau in his book. "He told me I was fatter than bleeping Ken Hitchcock. He told me I was going to die because I was such a fat bleep."

Boudreau coached Avery while they were both with the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL in 2003. Avery played in three playoff games for Manchester, the Los Angeles Kings AHL affiliate, after being acquired as part of a package of players and picks from the Detroit Red Wings for defenceman Mathieu Schneider.

When commenting on Avery's playing ability, Boudreau explained he had respect for what the controversial forward can do on the ice.
"He's a really good hockey player. I've had him, know of him, played with his dad and all of those things. But he knows how important the playoffs are and he's just going to be a really good thorn in our side that can play hockey with the best of them."

Let me start by saying that I've been an avid hockey fan for well over 15 years. I've loved the Chicago Blackhawks since the days of NHL 94 on the Sega Genesis. I've been to Blackhawks games in St. Louis, Chicago and more recently Nashville. In fact, I'd say I've seen the Hawks play in Nashville probably 10 times. I've only been to the United Center once and to St. Louis to see them once as well.

With that being said, I was at the game last night in Nashville and the fans were absolutely obnoxious. They chanted "sucks" after every Hawks player during the intro and then chanted, in unison "he sucks too" after the Quenneville's intro.

That was at the beginning of the game and I didn't really have a problem with it. Then, the Hawks got a power play. After the arena announcer said "the Blackhawks are on the power play" the fans chanted, "and they still suck".

When Huet gave up a goal they chanted, "Huet, Huet" which is fine and ended it with "you suck" and proceeded to chant "we're gonna beat the hell out of you".

It seems Nashville is obsessed with sucking things, I don't know. But regardless, I found it very humorous that a last place team which has now only won 4 games chants things like this. It would be different if they were actually a good team but they've never done anything. Not won a division, a playoff series, nothing. I was looking at their rafters and they have no banners for anything, so what do they have to brag about?

Again, the point of this thread is to ask, do other teams have ignorant chants like this? I am going back to Nashville to see the Hawks again on December 26th. Toews and Hossa will be back by then so we'll see who "sucks" then.

One last side note, the stadium was probably 2/3rd full. I'd be surprised if Nashville is around very much longer, another indication of their ignorant fans.

Guess what? Sid is now using a wood stick:

http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pitt.../s_650600.html

Sid's never scored more goals than he is right now and he's doing so with a good old fashion wood stick.

I hate composites. They stink.
They constantly break for no reason. They're less accurate and it's harder to 'feel' the puck on your blade when you receive it.
The game has never been played at a more frantic pace. It's so fast that even taking a split-second to check your blade to make sure the puck is there can mean the loss of a scoring opportunity.
How many times have you seen in a game where a player has to look down to make sure he got the pass? You never used to see that. Guys could receive passes with their heads up and not worry about where the puck was.

With wood, you can feel the puck better, it won't disintegrate for no reason, they're more accurate, and best of all? Goalies can no longer use the excuse that they need inflated gear to protect themselves from the booming shots composites provide - which is bunk.

The only thing that composites have over wood is they degrade faster in the shaft.

I'd love to see the NHL ban composites and go back to wood. The game would be better for it.

Thoughts?

I watched this entire game and it was a good one. It did shock me when Orr shoved the ref and knocked him down during this fight. I was glad the officials didn't make it some kind of major ordeal that involved game suspensions or other things, but I guess the league has the final say so about that. Will be watching to see if anything develops out of it.

7-1-2 to start the season. A big surprise, even to those out here in CO who were expecting a major rebuilding season.

But, so far, the young kids have stepped up and played GREAT hockey. I love the fact that this team plays all-out every game, regardless of the score. Of course, keeping that intensity up over the course of an 82-game season is difficult but so far, it's refreshing to see players push themselves to be better and not just accept some pre-determined fate by the so-called "experts" that picked the Avs to finish last.
