Is there any way to make the CPU use more of the play clock?

I'm an XBOX player. I like to play 15:00 quarters, but the fact that the computer always lines up and snaps it with about 20-25 seconds left on the play clock kind of snags the realism. I have to snap the ball at :01 on every play, and ridiculously skew T.O.P. to keep the scores and stats reasonable. Is there any way to make the computer wait until there's under :10 on the play clock to snap it, like most NFL teams do?

Try not picking your defensive play until that countdown timer starts.

You only get so much time to pick a play though, then the clock stops till you pick it or they pick it automatically. I don't think there is a way.

unfortunately there's nothing you can do, this is due to the lack of accelerated play clock.....

For me I just try to achieve 120 plays a game for both teams. I think the average number of plays for a game is around 120. 7 minute quarters get this for me.

+1 for 7-minute quarters ... have considered bumping it up to 8, because I've gotten good at dominating possession (or maybe I need to push the sliders further towards the extreme?)

8 min. qtrs for me. You really need to get to the point of ignoring TOP and looking at # of plays.

Re: Is there any way to make the CPU use more of the play clock?

I have since upped it to 8-min. quarters and find the number of plays is much more realistic. Thanks for the suggestion!

As for the TOP issue, I've found that turning up replay frequency and sitting through them instead of jumping right to the play-calling screen helps use more clock, though it's still not ideal. Accelerated play-clock is one good idea I can attribute to the Madden series.
