finn editor for ps3...

hey guys,

i am back from the dark side, and i am never going back... i thought this was the year madden would finally make us all forget about 2k5 and its just not the case... so, now i'm back for good...

with that being said i downloaded finn's newest editor, i think 4.06 or something...

i am playing 2k5 on my ps3 and it is great, i started with default rosters and simply simmed/managed my way up until 2008 season...

then i realized that there was some problems with progression and such, and i thought it might be fun to play a season/franchise with an updated roster rather than an old one...

so, like i said i downloaded finn's editor... AWSOME btw... however i am saddend to here that i cannot save any changes i make in my psv franchise file...

i was wondering if anyone had heard from finn, or, knows of anyway to save in the editor...

thanks in advance guys...

i am able to view and make change with finns editor, however i just can not save them...

what will the psv converter do that will enable me to save them?

i remember talking to you on aol about this, but, i was confused then too... why is it so damn hard to save ps2 files to the pc???

Re: finn editor for ps3...

heres how it works...

when you upload your file to the computer, you need to use the PSV Export to extract the files and then save it. After that, upload the extracted files (which is your roster file) into the PS2 Save Builder. Once that is done, save the file as a MAX file. You will need AR-MAX Action Replay for this to be done.

Once your roster file is saved as a MAX file, open the MAX file in the Finn editor, make your modifications, then save. Once you have saved the MAX file with your edits, you will need to convert that MAX file into a PSV file (which you need the PSV converter for)

Re: finn editor for ps3...

well, i downloaded that program i just linked you to...

the problem is with finn's editor, when i make some changes to my psv franchise file, the editor will not let me save the changes...

Re: finn editor for ps3...

it sounds like teh psv file is "digitally signed" and that is why we can not "edit" or "save" the files because even with the program i downloaded you do not know the digital signature required... it also sounds like this is something the the ps3 os does and we may never be able to get into it...

IF you have a way to do it with out the need for additional hardware, let me know and I will add it to the editor. Currently, I am unaware of a way to create a PSV file that will work on the PS3 other then on the PS3 itself because it signs the files in a way that is unknown at this time.
