Long Snappers

How do you substitute the correct player as a Long Snapper? On the default NFL 2K5 roster, I go into the Substitutions and try putting linebacker Jason Kyle into that slot but another linebacker like Jesse Armstead goes there. it is very weird, it was very easy for NFL 2K4.

Any way I can overcome this with Finn's editors?

are you sure Jason Kyle isn't either:
1) already in that formation somewhere else
2) if you are doing this during a game, is he too tired (eg your sub-in/sub-out levels would need adj)

He isn't in the formation at all, number 56 inside linebacker for Carolina. I don't do this in-game, I do it in Playbook Manager.

To make subs like this, do it in the playbook manager in franchise mode. Make sure that the Panthers are the main team and that the depth chart is set according to rating. For example, if the Panthers have 5 OLB's, make sure that after the starters, the backups are in order of rating at both LOLB and ROLB spots. If you try to copy actual depth chart's, you can come across problems in regads to subs.

After that, like Puja said, make sure that Kyle isnt in the formation somewhere else. Then, make the substitution but select, "no, discard this playbook" when finished subbing. Dont worry though, the subs will stay intact for the entire season unless you change it or if the player subbed in gets injured during the season.

One other thing - make sure that no other team is using the Panthers playbook because if you sub a player from one team, it affects the other team as well which is why I only change the playbook if I need to change the team's depth chart from 4-3 to the 3-4 or vice versa.

Is the correct long snapper really all that important? I could see if there was some variability with the snap, but it doesn't seem all that critical.

Nah it doesn't work, I tried everything. In NFL 2K4 I can do it so easily, and in 2K5 it is like impossible to even put Jason Kyle in the Punt formation.

Make Kyle a Center and move him to the #2 spot.

I just tested it out and Kyle is the LS. I subbing him in using the playbook manager in franchise mode. I used VC's final roster update. I just played the Packers from 2004 and he's there so I dont know why you're having a problem. Sorry.
