ok question about file transfers with xport..

would anybody know why i cant load a file once i load up the game?

the file shows its there, and i can click it to load, but then it says "unable to load"

this is acutally for nhl 2k8 roster file, which guys got to work, and i can not..
2K8 Roster Attempt

dropping and dragging works perfect on memory card and hd, but it just wont load..

any experts on this stuff in here?

In my current job I just don't have the bandwidth to pull together all the data as in seasons past. I mined out some data-intensive work for help over email from other OS members but havent gotten anything back yet.

This was only sent to people who have helped me in the past (even some already this offseason) as they were the most likely to want to help get this off the ground

Really my hope was to put together a team of ppl who could help me stay on top of gathering the information year round & I could just keep cranking out the updated ratings, transactions & depth charts. It's really just contract info and rookie prospect info but there is devil in the details when you look at what that entails (pictures, 5 predraft measurements, ht/wt, equip, DOB, etc).

Honestly, I don't know if there is enough interest in the game anymore. People get excited 3-4 times a year (start of free agency, NFL draft, opening day, playoffs).

It sucks because we actually have new tools from Finn to update files almost instantly from this information. He wrote the code to auto-import much of this direct from the spreadsheets.

I'll update when I have something to say or a file to offer, but sadly no ETA at this point.

I never got the idea that you were searching for a group to help put this togther. I assumed you just needed a couple people to do some legwork and I check that thread a few times and it seemed it was getting done. What is still left? I'm sure if you put the word out for some "assigned positions" people would step up.

I think you're wrong about the interest in 2k5. I understand interest is much lower right now, but I think that is natural. Baseball and hockey are in full swing and some people are even interested in what passes for pro basketball too. Interest in going to be lower, but I think it's still there. Look at how many people said they were just waiting for your roster to come out this year. If you have lost interest in the game, thats another story. I could see this coming just by seeing your activity in the forum. I was really into Fps98 for years and suddenly lost interest and shut down my league and never went back. A some point, it's time to move forward. You have a life to live.

If, however, you are looking for a team dedicated enough to help out and meet deadlines, I'd be willing to join in to do a part. I still haven't lost the thrill of having someone email and say how much they've enjoyed a roster.

actually, dophin i haven't lost interest in the game at all

i just literally do not have enough hours in the day year-round to gather the information. i could crank out a crummy file (by my own standards) no problem. but to keep the level of detail & accuracy, i just need help
