Let me ask you something about the real NFL: Did you expect at the start of the year that Los Angeles Kings and New Jersey Devils would make it to the finals? Do they both have top rosters? Who are their key players? Did they keep them in board for the next year? Are they offensive or defensive style?

I believe that at the beginning of the season many people were expecting LA to be in the playoffs, but not the finals. By the trade deadline they were a good team with a missing piece, scoring. With the acquisition of Jeff Carter it seemed like the missing piece was found (as you can see from their dominant playoff run).

Best young team has to be the Blues. They added Tarasenko in the offseason, who is going to be a huge offensive upgrade. But the team is young and built to win for years.

I'll probably choose a middle of the road type team like the Avs to start out. After I get use to the game, I'll move to one of the lesser teams.

If I grab the game, and that will depend on the first impressions of stability from kind North American PS3 players, I think I will go with the Jets. That was the original plan last year, but by the time the wardrobe malfunctions had been ironed out, my patience had been worn too thin.

I always start with my Leafs. I also like to play with teams that have some good prospects. (Oilers, Islanders)

Bruins obviously. Though I actually might try a separate GM with a western conference team like the Blues just to see if there truly is a difference in playing styles set up between teams this year.

I'll be playing with the Flyers. Can't wait to try out Luke Schenn on defense and use all of the young guns on offense. Hopefully Bryz can play better in a video game than in real life haha

He'll play fine....until the playoffs that is .

Since and only since NHL 10 I have used Chicago so I will use them in NHL 13. I have always used St Louis from NHLPA 93 to NHL 09. Maybe if I get bored I may go back to the Blues.
