Re: Team First Presentation?

If they changed the menus then that is a step in the right direction. I was getting really tired of the boring grey/white background that has taken commonplace in NHL games since their leap into the next gen. The favorite team thing is a great idea, because I hated scrolling all the way to the Flyers in the roster menu.

If the game would look anything like it does on TV, (which it doesn't), i will be impressed. Not holding my breath tho, but looking forward to better game play. To this day, i still think in terms of gameplay that NHL 10 is the best. Not sure what happened the last 2 times around.

Getting rid of the awful goal celebrations from 12 and that canned cut of the reserve goalie on the bench is an excellent start.

I really hope they fix these horrible goal celebration cutscenes. They're too short, and there's absolutely no interaction between goal scorer and his team. From the E3 gameplay clip though, I don't see much of a change...

I hope this ends up being good. Team specific menus is a good start though. That was one small thing on NHL04 that I loved.

For people wanting real life music...there's really no reason or EA to get rights to this, when fans can easily do this for free on their own.

I just hope the presentation cutscenes are better. Intros could be abit better(if it's team specific stuff, imagine realistic crowds. If it's Leafs-Habs game, fans would boo away team like crazy, but if it's something like Leafs-Lightning, fans won't really care about the visiting team). Some Canadian teams during their intros, have the Canadian flag in the crowd being passed down a couple of sections, maybe they'll have that in some intros?

And of course, goal celebrations should be longer. This year, from the second you score, until the puck drop, it lasted no more than 20 seconds(so the actual cutscene was 10 or so seconds)

From that gameplay video EA released yesterday, it looks like goal celebrations are indeed longer. How much longer? Not sure, but they look better.

As far as team specific intros go...I'm not holding my breath. At all. I'm just gonna play it by ear for now.

And, for NHL 13, EA's Major focus and time was spent on Gameplay and Presentation Overhaul. There might be more to team-first presentation than you think.
Where did they acquire more arena licenses? Not the Rangers,Black Hawks or Islanders, likely not the Bruins.Unless that's an early build of the game, the first gameplay video didn't show any upgrades in presentation.

I want an answer to this question myself.
