And now some useful contribution

I hate the team of Clement and Thorne. They're absolutely DREADFUL. The commentary is stale. The Bruins won the Cup in the 2010-2011 season. When NHL 12 dropped, it still said that Boston won their last Cup in 1972. It's irritating.

The crew also says the same things they've said in the past, but that doesn't bother me too much because it happens in NCAA 12 as well.

I think it's time to spice things up. Give us Pierre McGuire "Inside the Glass". Even if you don't see him there, it would be nice for them to break to him. I know a lot of people hate McGuire, but I think he does a good job. Does he ball wash? Probably more than needed, but what big market broadcasting company doesn't with superstar players?

It would be nice for EA Vancouver to bring in some new guys, preferably the TSN crew since they seem the most knowledgable about the sport and I would HATE to listen to Doc Emerick over and over

It's definitely not game breaking. After about two months of Be A GM, the commentators go off and I either put on music from my ipod or sports radio from my surround sound.

Don't mind the announcers, just completely re record their damn lines.

This...Thorne and Clement fit fine and do a great job. The lines just need some depth and changing. I wouldn't mind seeing the NBC crew taking over at some point, but really it all boils down to refreshing the lines and updating the commentary in general. It will get old no matter who does it, if the lines remain the same. Still no reason to not buy what appears to be the freshest NHL game since 08.

I agree with this. It's not like they have irritating voices or something. Just have them come in and record a ton more lines so it seems like there is more depth to commentary.

Believing the EA hype machine already and again are we? Think I'll wait until weeks after the game is out before coming to any such conclusions, heh. Personally, I wouldn't recommend buying the game at all, and not because of the stale commentary, but because of how stale the entire series is and has been.

Re: Gary Thorne and Bill Clement again for NHL 13?

Have to say I am a little disappointed myself the Gary and Bill return.

Not that I don't like them...it's just that for me, a new team could really help to freshen things up, imo. I was personally hoping for Doc and Eddie for '13'. But I'll survive.

agree. its just the their lines that i find irritating, lame and lack of substance. specially the comments about NHL "debates" something to that effect, cant remember exactly the lines because i have my commentaries volume to 0.

yes i agree that we need some change...but first thing first....gameplay. and in my case BaGM modes need improvememnt.

I wouldn't say I've completely bought into it, but I'm not completely dismissing it either. Compared to what we've seen hype wise over the last several years, I feel this year we at least stand a decent chance of having improved overall gameplay. That doesn't mean I believe it's gonna be a mind blowing difference, but as Fiddy said, it couldn't be any worse.

Sure stale but by all means when your in the middle of the game you almost don't hear em. There are alot worse announcers. Granted I'm a Bruins fan but Jack Edwards and Brick are awesome. 1 of my least favorite is the guy from Buffalo. This game is going to be fine so go get it and enjoy.

I HATE Jack Edwards. As an Avs fan, I miss John Kelly. Mike Haynes is a great play by play guy, but John Kelly just rocks.
