EA Sports NHL>Free Agent List (not a be a gm complaint)

Would anyone ever consider releasing random players with real NHL experience from national teams to the f.a. list? Even some guys who've retired? I'm talking about:

Forsberg
Sundin
A.Daigle
M.Ragnarsson

Theres many more. All are on international teams. I find it realistic because it's possible they can be lured out if retirement or back into the NHL. Plus I think it would be fun to have a chance to pick up some of these guys with true NHL experience. [Reply]

Somebody who plays the game the way I do. :-) I do that sort of thing a lot. The problem (which is okay with me) is the CPU will sign all the high-rated players before the season starts, which completely changes the looks of some teams as well as the conference standings. Last year with NHL 09, I think it was Edmonton or some other team that signed about 6-8 big-name players before I'd even played a game. [Reply]

do they sign the high rated players as in years past?

bc i noticed in a fantasy draft (default rosters when game came out) that guys like sundin (older guys) were not drafted bc of age.. which i thought was pretty cool. is it different with FA's though? bc i didnt notice them getting picked up when the season started. i only played a few weeks though then started over.
