Re: NHL10 Gripes/Bugs/Glitches Thread

I'm already sick of some of the same problems from last year: the ally D AI is still woefully inadequate, making you do all the work alone. The slot is not protected by your AI D partner at all, even with Human Aggression higher than the CPU. Also, even with Human Pass Interceptions all the way up, the puck almost always finds a way through your player even when you are clogging a passing lane, so that many CPU goals are because of improbable passes that go through one or more of your defenders. CPU passing is still too accurate even with CPU Pass Accuracy at zero.

Thought I'd answer this while I was on this subject. Doubt this is what the game ref intended but who knows
Thanks for posting these. It seemed a little odd when it happened, but it really shouldn't matter too much. I'd imagine that majority of the time the goalie or cpu defenders will be the first ones on the puck anyways.

Re: NHL10 Gripes/Bugs/Glitches Thread

Was playing a few games last night with manual/hardcore passing. At the end of the game, when I checked extended post game stats, (I think the menu selection is called "Team Comparison" or something like that) I noticed that my passing % statistic was always at 0%. I'm not a great passer with these new settings, but I do manage to complete some of my passes.

Not a big deal for me, but I was genuinely curious as to how efficient I was, in comparison to the CPU. The CPU pass % appeared to be accurate.

I did go and mess around for a few minutes in the Normal mode, and it seemed as though my passing numbers were registering properly.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Let's say the puck is shot at the net and I believe it is right underneath the goalie. Well I do what real NHL players do and just try to shove that puck in. Well in NHL 10 (and 09), it the puck isn't at my sick, it actually will check a player and I called for interference. I have no control over my right stick, if it's shooting or checking.

Very annoying.

I am experiencing the same thing as Willrolls. A friend and I played a game on hardcore and both of us showed 0% pass completion. We passed a lot so it seems odd that not one of them connected.

Yea, it's a bug. Its always 0% for me as well. This game is awesome..the ONLY thing I don't like about it, is the way you have to play like 15 minutes to even get realistic stats. I want to play 7-8 minutes and have 25-35 shots for both sides..instead I end up with 13-20 shots a side.

This fix was introduced in the first 09 patch -- hold vision control when you hit up the R-stick. No more unwanted checks. I believe Redshirt said they attempted to tune it so that isn't necessary, but it's still safer than just the R-stick.

I'm seeing this a lot here and I feel compelled to say something -- you can't have your cake and eat it too (which is a stupid saying, but hopefully you get the point).

The majority of us clamor for more realistic gameplay, yet people want to play less than half a real game and expect accurate stats. Sure, I happen to be someone who doesn't mind and even enjoys playing a full-length game (always tried to do 12min qtrs or 20min halves in b-ball), but I can see why some don't want to take an hour or more to play one game.

But if we truly want "realistic gameplay", it's only logical that we'll need to play longer games to see NHL-like stats. Again, I understand the problem, but you can't have it both ways...

I hate how there are some many trades before you start your Franchise/GM mode, Please patch this.

You're right man, but ya gotta admit it's rough... especially with the repetitive way the CPU AI plays this year, on BAP even 5 min periods are driving me insane... I wish you could pull an NCAA and have it sim when you're not on the ice...

Re: NHL10 Gripes/Bugs/Glitches Thread

I have been playing BAP mode and there is a certain cut scene that when it starts playing it has frozen. It has happened to me now in 2 games, and I just simmed through the game, then it doesn't happen for awhile. So it happens about every 10 games or so.
