Re: *THE PERFECT SUPERSTAR SLIDERS* Plays like Real NHL !

Problem I'm having with DM's, is that my shot totals are way above the CPU's. I try and play realistic, but the CPU just doesn't shoot. Plus, they seem to score on so few shots. It's a mixed bag. I have great variety of goals, but it's that "balance" i'm looking for. I might increase AI learn to 3 to see if that helps.

Try 11 or 10 minutes periods (I use 11), and try lowering shot accuracy if it doesn't work (like the CH sliders).

I think the CPU cycling is an AI glitch and thus won't be improved by sliders unless if a patch occurs to fix this.

I said that 4 post ago Steven, you may want to try that and lower the cpu agression to Celtics, 6 human and 4 ai

Re: *THE PERFECT SUPERSTAR SLIDERS* Plays like Real NHL !

I've only made two changes... Lowered time to 11 mins and raised Pass Accur to 2 (3/2).

So far, so good. I'm LA playing against DET (who is known for shooting a lot). After 2 periods, I'm up 1-0, but the shots are 14 (LA) to 23 (DET). I'm not too worried about scoring because I've had teams score 4 against me.

But what is your thought on the aggression at 6/4 (lowering the CPU)? Do you think by lowering it the CPU "thinks" before it acts more? And with it at 6, it's a run-n-gun game?

Everyone seems to agree about shot power/accuracy and goalie settings ; the sliders that differs most are passing ones and aggressivity, acceleration and attribute sliders.

About the passing ones, to stick true to the real NHL, where the passes are really fast, quite accurate, but intercepted quite often, I think it would be nice to the raise pass speed and interception, and pass accuracy to 3-4, and maybe setting aiming to manual. Any thoughts ?

So far so good again... I played at WASH against PHO and won 4 -1 (empty net by Ovie and 2gls by Semin). The game felt much better. PHO had 27 shots to my 24. Amazing how adjusting ONE slider one notch, changes the game. (pass accur 3/2). I might put this up to 12 min periods to see if there is a another difference. Definitely have to play a few more games to verify these are the sliders for me.

I scored 1st, then the CPU scored off a cheap rebound by my goaltender. My goalie bumped the puck to the opposing player with his stick in an attempt to cover up?? First I thought, "cheap AI goal syndrome again", but then Clark for Washington was down by PHO net. A rebound came to the PHO player, but Clark stick lifted, grabbed the puck and scored. And I only control the RD (position lock), so this was a nice thing to see.

Way too many "goalie twisting and batting the puck" animations though. This is obviously a programming issue.

Im waiting on my ps3 return but as memory serves me I only mess with cpu pass Acc as its the only thing other than speed that really increases the cpu shots

Re: *THE PERFECT SUPERSTAR SLIDERS* Plays like Real NHL !

Well, in the past two games, the shot total between the CPU and myself have been pretty even. Prior to that with Pass Accur at 3/1, I was outshooting the CPU by about 10 per game.... So, few more games with these, and I'll have a final say for myself.

What's also nice, is that (and once again, SO FAR), the good teams are winning and the bad teams struggle. LA(me) and DET went to a 2-2 shootout and then Wash(me) and Pho was a good game even though I won 4-1. It feels "balanced" so far. I guess the next step would be to play as Japan vs an All Star Team and see what happens. Logically, I should lose.

Steven Did I mention I use these for playoff mode ONLY which does seem to play alot tougher possibly a slight cpu boost which I hate . Season or play now plays alot easier so that may also be a reason for your trouble ?
