He does PS3 and to be honest, he does an amazing job with rosters. I've got to say I am very impressed. It has made the game so much more fun to play having all the young rookies.

I am very excited to use this years update for the NHL 10 game due to the fact that it looks to be the most amazing hockey game yet.

Peace,
Boss.

I have both an xbox 360 and ps3, I feel more comfortable with the xbox 360 so my question is if you had both systems would you buy it for ps3 b/c of the rosters?

Well, my question then for you would be, do you know anybody doing solid rosters for XBOX360?

I would have a hard time finding somebody who does rosters as well as matt does. He updates usually weekly and is constantly tweaking his roster so I buy the game for PS3. I had both XBOX360 and PS3 last year and used PS3 for NHL due to having fantastic roster set. Hope that helps.

Peace,
Boss

I think you are making the right choice. Both consoles have their strong points. I however choose the PS3 version of the game for the simple reason that I know I have the rookies and great updates since EA usually in years past slacks on that aspect.

Re: NHL 10 Ultimate Roster Update for PS3

I was going to have a crack at my own roster update, but you seemed to do a very comprehensive job last year so I'll leave it to the pro.

My requests would be to up the potentials of most top flight prospects, I personally like to see 90+ for most top 15-20 picks even if that may be a bit over the top, just because in past years the potential didn't seem to be taken into account much when it came to the progression of rookies and young players. So the higher the better, but I typically reserved 97-99 potential for the best of the best, Crosby, Turris, Stamkos, etc.

I'd like to see strength adjusted properly, EA is terrible at gauging who a strong player is. I see a 5'9 guy who dishes out the hits a fair bit given an 85 strength, while a player like Ladislav Smid who doesn't always play with an edge but who's 6'3 - 225 and can push players around when he wants to, given a low 70s strength rating. I know there are some guys who play bigger then they are, and some soft big men, but it should be more realistic. Those small tough guys should probably have a higher toughness rating.

Proper speed for some players. Shawn Horcoff has been around 82-85 in speed the last several years, but in 2008 won the all star game fastest skater and is known for his speed, more around a 90-92 imo. Or guys like Mason Raymond or Darren Helm who were not 80+ players in NHL 09 but who both have blazing speed. Speed is not an attribute that should be lowered to lower someones overall, they don't get slower and when a rookie improves from one year to the next its not usually his skating. Shot power/Accuracy/Deking/Passing, these things should be lower on players like this.

Also with rookies, I don't like seeing many 80+ rookies, NHL players don't jump in and immediately make an impact like NFL rookies for instance, except for the rare generational talent. I like seeing 68-75 or so for most rookies, imo.

I'm sure I'll have more thoughts, but these are my 2 cents on what I do when editing the entire leagues rosters.

Good luck man, I look forward to checking out your work.
