Not only improved but working off the new motion captures that were brought in for NBA Live 09. On top that you now have "arc sensitive" shooting. Meaning that you release your shot at the arc to get the best percentage.

I'm a customization guy like you, so I have a few questions.

1) I saw the addition of more in-season tourney's. Can you shoot Marcus an email or one of the producers(if you don't know of course) If they have the "Mini" tourneys with teams playing 3 games in three days? I

2) Where the conference versus conference challenges in the game, IE Big12/Pac-10, SEC/Big East, Big 10/ACC? If so, do you get to customize the matchups each year?

3) I wouldn't expect create-a-team to make it in there this year, but are they aware that people would like this in the game? Sure I like to play as my Hometown UCLA Bruins, or alma mater of American University. But it was fun making teams up, or using me and friends from our intramural or league teams as templates to try out, whether its building a program from the ground up, or make us a Juggernaut, and see if we could hold our own against the best in the NCAA?

4) Multiple player dynasties? I used to do this in NCAA Football w/my brother, and its something that can add replay value?

5) Player customization? Is everything in play, without a limiter. If I want to make a Superman player, named Clark Kent, with 99s in EVERY area, can I do it? Not that I would, (b/c that's no fun), but I don't want to have to take away from one area to increase the stats in another. Also, will the FINALLY let us change the class year of the players, so in case a they mess-up a players class status, we can do it without, having to create him from scratch?

Thanks again Paul, and I'm glad they finally let you start spilling the beans about this title.

I personally feel in many ways can deter from making the core game good. Because extra modes etc take up time that can be spent utilizing and optimizing other key areas of the game that HAVE TO BE spot on. In the case of the create a coach . that is so closely related to the gameplay that it makes sense adding. But that's just me though. We are talking short dev times for very new and involved tech. They are aware however and have been focusing on eventually finding a comprimise.

I sure hope we can control more than one team for a season.
I hope the player editor is by far alot better than last year.
no deforming faces, have all the pads, armsleeves, and authentic tattoos for different parts of the arms, shoulders, forearms, wrists, necks calves to be able to make the player look like his real life counterpart. Low, medium, long, black socks added, All the elbow, knee, calf pads, different placed wristbands, for both arms, different color headbands, more better hairstyles. long different colors moving hair, moving dreadlocks, ponytails, overall better looking hairstyles. Better looking faces for each race instead of what they had last year. Be able to edit the year like freshman redshirt freshman and so on for the players.

Thanks

You're gonna laugh, but the first thing i did while I play tested WAS TO go into the player edit LOL.

Faces morphing HAS BEEN fixed(with 150 pre made faces to choose from) and there are actually about 30% more accessories. hairstyles? Ahh I'm gonna have to say they're better.

Actually great! new animations for trapping and press coverages were abound as well as urgency from players to dribble out and close up gaps.

Yes.
YES!! These things are all huge additions, IMO. Most of these were pretty much 'must have' additions for this year. Very, very pleased to read those few paragraphs.

How bout black socks? They make it in? I'm serious!

Also, I noticed in the blog at EASW they mentioned that you pointed out the problems with the shorts/uniforms and that EA would look into it. They still have a little more than 2.5 months before the release date, lets keep our fingers crossed that they can fix it.

Few other questions...

1) It's a new engine but have the post controls remained the same from 08? I actually liked the control in the post, very easy to use and fun. I also liked the offensive fouls and travels when you were trying to abuse the post with an average to below-average player.

2) Are the crazy animations still in there from when you try to hold down sprint and a lockdown defender "locks you down" and you lose control of your player to a long animation where you end up running out of bounds?

3) Any opinion on the accuracy of the default roster? It is great that we can finally edit everything but the less work for us is obviously better.

4) Any info about alternate uniforms? More than 08? I never got the bracket pack thing so I don't know what the deal was.

5) Was the "variation" from Live 09's play calling scheme (outlined in Czar's vid) in NCAA09? This is one of the features I'm most excited about in EA's bball games this year.

6) Any type of closed legacy option?

Thanks for the info!

Hmmm I'm not quite sure. when i actually "looked" inthe editor i found that they had all white socks with something along the lines of team color specifics...

Also, I noticed in the blog at EASW they mentioned that you pointed out the problems with the shorts/uniforms and that EA would look into it. They still have a little more than 2.5 months before the release date, lets keep our fingers crossed that they can fix it.

Yeah well hat's the thing, you can only mention something more than once. I along with the guys in the group were really trying to nail home the fact that the uniforms, player models were in fact kinda off. We even went as far as seeing actual photos so that we could make our poits better as well...

1) It's a new engine but have the post controls remained the same from 08? I actually liked the control in the post, very easy to use and fun. I also liked the offensive fouls and travels when you were trying to abuse the post with an average to below-average player.

There are there in tact and made better due to the implementation of the NBA Live engine.

2) Are the crazy animations still in there from when you try to hold down sprint and a lockdown defender "locks you down" and you lose control of your player to a long animation where you end up running out of bounds?

Are they gone in NBA Live 09? They should be. From what I was being told and saw during gameplay is that specific animation has been tweaked AND the boundary force feild slider IS in so having that at max literally solves any issues last year might have had.

3) Any opinion on the accuracy of the default roster? It is great that we can finally edit everything but the less work for us is obviously better.

They're really doing a good job with the ratings and rosters this year and the team is pretty passionate about their College Basketball specifics. The editor is now fast and intuitive as well. I was very happy to find this out when i went into it. I was like *wipes forehead* "whew..."

4) Any info about alternate uniforms? More than 08? I never got the bracket pack thing so I don't know what the deal was.

I definitely saw more while in pre game set ups...

5) Was the "variation" from Live 09's play calling scheme (outlined in Czar's vid) in NCAA09? This is one of the features I'm most excited about in EA's bball games this year.

Yup, and it's pretty chill along with the icon passing where the icons now stay above the players head...

On a side note, NBA Live 09 is VERY good...

Re: ***NCAA Basketball 09 Community Event Recap***(Ask questions)

This thread makes me happy. All that wishlist gathering actually paid off. Don't tell me EA doesn't listen to their customers!

1. Will edited player names, faces, and accessories show up online? Does EA Locker 3.0 allow public roster sharing? Are more file types than rosters allowed? Can you rename game saves?

2. Is lockdown defense still in the game? Has it been improved? Do the animations with it look natural--no vacuum nastiness going on? Can you still maul someone with the "circle" button and not be called for a foul?

3. Can you give more details about how presentation has been improved? Is the ESPN licensing used more often? How's the pre/post-game analysis? Is band music played at timeouts and stoppages? Does the crowd go crazy in close games? Are there more team specific chants? Will the crowd ever go "ooohhhhh" when the away team has the ball?

4. Are there more player names in the announcer's database? Can you actually hear the PA announcer? Are there virtual replicas of Dickie V, Nessler, and Andrews?

5. How were human vs. human games, compared to human vs. CPU? Which one was more fun? Are the EA devs good at their games?

6. Can you export dynasty teams or draft classes?

7. Will EASW uploaded clips include sound?

8. Are player last names below their feet, instead of the little box off to the side?

Thanks Tomba!

Yes, yes and yes... Didn't necessarily try out the mauling...

Again, the presentation 'represents" what you see on a live broadcast. The pre/post game analysis is much more informative.
Bands play, crowd REALLY is well raised and lowered..."ooh anf ahhs" Don't REALLY remember as the gameplay was what was grabbing my attention the most.

NCAA 09's a BIG jump from NCAA 08
Seriously.

4. Are there more player names in the announcer's database? Can you actually hear the PA announcer? Are there virtual replicas of Dickie V, Nessler, and Andrews?

Yeah like I said there's about 3000 more comments to the game, which probably means there's been name calling done.
No virtual replicas..that I know of yet! 'magine Erin Andrews poppin' up on your screen LOL.

5. How were human vs. human games, compared to human vs. CPU? Which one was more fun? Are the EA devs good at their games?

Never played or simmed one unfortunately.

6. Can you export dynasty teams or draft classes?

No and this is due to a lot of things, but they are working diligently on making this into a reality where fans and newcomers can start interacting between both basketball games...

And finally. Yes players names are below their feet!

By public roster sharing, I meant not having to add someone to your friends list for them to access your locker.

I edited the majority of the PS3 roster file last year, so I had to add a bunch of strangers to my friends list in order to share my work. It was a minor annoyance.
