Yeah, Usually a big club will come to you in about year 3 if you've done well with your current club.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?

Finished 2012/13 as manager of Plymouth Argyle. Got off to a rocky start, losing 3 friendies, 1-2 vs Doncaster, 5-0 at FK Austria, 1-2 vs Charlton.

npower League 2
The league season didn't start much better. Was in 13th on the league table after a 4-5-4 start in mid-October.
From there was able to win 7 in a row to move up to 3rd.
December and January turned out to be a challenge as I went 3-2-4 and fell to 6th.
After a 1-3-1 February, I remained in 6th but was solidly in the running for a playoff spot for promotion and potentially could move up into the automatic promotion spots if I could get hot.
Wins over Cheltenham, Bristol Rovers, Exeter, Aldershot and a draw at Chesterfield moved me into 4th place at the end of March and only 4 points out 3rd.
A disappointing 1-1 draw at 19th place Torquay United to open April left me 6 back of 3rd place. A win at home against 12th place AFC Wimbledon and a draw against 16th place Burton Albion clinched me a spot in the playoffs. Easy wins over bottom of the table Fleetwood Town and York City clinched 3rd place and automatic placement into League 1 next year and 81 points. My final match at home with 2nd place Wycombe Wanderers (84 points) was for second place, as a win would have won me 2nd place on goal differential. The 1-0 win put left me in 2nd place, some 20 points behind champion Bradford City.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?

Season 2 is in the books, and overall I'm pretty happy.

As in last season, Plymouth Argyle got off to a slow start, as friendlies against St. Pauli, Fleetwood and AIK yielded only a single draw against 2 losses.

The league season did not start out much better. 1-1-3 after the first 5 matches and 23rd on the table left relegation back to League 2 seemed a possibility.

September however was a much better month, with 3 wins over Bradford City (17th at year end), Preston North End (13th) and Wycombe (20th). As a result, Plymouth Argyle moved up to 9th place on the league table.

The celebration was short lived however, as the next 8 matches only resulted in 1 point. With a record of 4-2-11 and 21st place, relegation again seemed back in play.

By March, after a victory over 6th place Bournemouth, I had clawed my way back to 10th place with a 13-5-15 record. The thought had occurred to me that I could go on another late season run to claw my way into the promotion playoff.

Two losses to Coventry City and Charlton Athletic and I quickly fell back to 12th with 11 games left, but a soft spot upcoming in the schedule. A 5-2-0 record over the next 7 games put me 10th, with 4 games to play.

Losses to Tranmere Rovers and Charlton Athletic again and a draw with Scnthorpe United was only helped by 3 straight losses by 9th place Notts County. Within 1 point of Nottis County and a game against 23rd place Carlisle United, left me hoping to catch them. A disappointing 1-1 draw, with Carlisle's goal coming in ET, left me hoping that Notts County would lose. I had a 2 goal advantage in differential with Notts County and a loss wold give me my 9th place finish.

Notts County obliged with a 2-1 loss to Colchester on the road.

Scoring was an issue all season for Plymouth Argyle scoring only 56 goals in 46 league games. I was unable to make a deal during the January transfer window to get an attacker good enough to make a difference and had a couple of injuries during the season to forwards that were months long.

npower League 1 Final Standings

1. Millwall (100) x
2. Charlton Athletic (98) x
3. Coventry City (95)
4. Barnsley (93)

Capital One Cup

Plymouth Argyle 0-1 West Ham United

J. Paint Trophy

Onward to season three. Unsure if I will get rehired to Plymouth, but here's hoping. I really want to build it into a powerhouse over time, but it will only take one bad season.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?

Well, great. My Doncaster file seems to be corrupted or something, it keeps freezing on me. Oh well, I've wanted to restart with Dortmund since it screwed up my old file anyways....

So, I am now the manager of Borussia Dortmund!

My plans for the team are to mostly build through the Youth program, but also bring in players through transfer when needed. Hoping to keep most of the team from European countries, but will be open to anything if I have to.

Still using Orion's custom sliders.

My moves so far have been:

Departed on Loan:

ST - Julian Schieber (77) - Germany, 23
LB - Marcel Halstenberg (55) - Germany, 20
RB - Oliver Kirch (68) - Germany, 30
RM - Jonas Hofmann (59) - Germany, 20
CM - Moritz Leitner (74) - Germany, 19

Sold Players:

CB - Felipe Santana (77) - Brazil, 26 - $3,600,000
CM - Mustafa Amini (65) - Australia, 19 - $1,100,000
LM - Ivan Perisic (78) - Croatia, 23 - $12,000,000

Bought Players:

LM - Andre Schurrle (79) - Germany, 21 - $17,000,000
CB - Toby Alderweireld (77) - Belgium, 23 - $8,000,000

Starting XI:
4-5-1 Custom

GK - Roman Weidenfeller (82)
RB - Lukasz Piszczek (82)
CB - Neven Subotic (82)
CB - Mats Hummels (86)
LB - Marcel Schmelzer (78)
RDM - Sven Bender (82)
LDM - Ilkay Gundogan (81)
RM - Marco Reus (84)
LM - Andre Schurrle (79)
CAM - Mario Gotze (84)
ST - Robert Lewandowski (84)

Subs:

GK - Mitchell Langerak (68)
CDM - Sebastian Khel (78)
LM - Kevin Grobkreutz (75)
RM - Jakub Blaszczykowkski (81)
CAM - Leonardo Bittencourt (68)

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?

Yeah so my QPR file got deleted some how and I saw how Bloop33 did one with Borussia Dortmund, so I one-upped him and did Bayern Munich. We should win the leauge. I changed the formation to a 4-5-1 from a 4-2-3-1. I benched Javi Martinez and started Toni Kroos. In the transfer market, I bought Mats Hummels and Stephan Jovetic while selling Mario Gomez. So here is my Startin 11

GK: Maunel Neuer
RB: Phillip Lahm
RCB: Mats Hummels
LCB: Holger Badstuber
LB: David Alaba
RM: Arjen Robben
RCM: Thomas Muller
CM: Bastian Schweinsteiger
LCM: Toni Kroos
LM: Franck Ribery
ST: Stefen Jovetic

After our 1st friendly, Badstauber was hurt and Dante took his place.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?

Woooow! I was messing around on my old West Ham file, just thinking over whether I should play as Dortmund in the Bundesliga. It just doesn't have the competitive level of the EPL for me and I wasn't enjoying playing the games. Anywaaays, since I hadn't saved since the 3rd last game of the season, I played the 3 games, all wins, and progressed to the point where I expected to be fired....I wasn't fired!

Back to West Ham for this guy! I've build this team too strong to just walk away if I'm not being fired!

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?

I'm trying to resign players during the season so I don't have to deal with it during the off-season. I'm giving players max 5 year extension and $50,000 weekly wage.

Well they're declining due the years not being what they want. Will more years be added on during the off-season or is 5 years the max I can give them? Some already have 2 year contracts but want to give them extension.

FC Barcelona just gave me an offer for Iker Muniain worth $35,000,000 and I got him on a deal for $8,000,000 from Athletic Bilboa. I like him because he's a young LW with great ability. Even though my team is stacked with strikers, this is an offer can't refuse.

1st place in La Liga BBVA with 43 points and Atletico Madrid on my tail with 42 points.

Advanced in the Spanish Cup to the Round of 32 and advanced in Group Play tied with Chelsea in the Champions Cup. Transfer market just opened, and need more strikers and midfielders.
