Official FIFA 12 Custom Team Tactics Thread

I did pick up the game last night. It looks incredible. I haven't messed around with any sliders or tactics yet. Just trying to get the feel for it again since I really haven't played FIFA much at all since the Manager Mode debacle of 10 was discovered.

But I am going to get into some of that tonight.

Manager Mode is the reason I want to go all out on custom tactics. I won't start my Arsenal save until all FA teams have a custom tactic of some kind.

As for MM from '10 to now, I think they've made some big improvements. Last year was pretty nice except for the almost complete lack of progression.

This years CM is so much better in terms of the complete depth. I added CTT to all the Prem teams and didn't have the patience to hold out and do any more. One thing I will add to the CTT listed in here, the pressure at 100 (I believe the pressure setting goes to double team when set this high and not the aggression setting) doesn't do much in the way of creating many more fouls, I did find though that 100 pressure and a higher agression creates a very nice feel for the opponent. They don't dive in like mad men trying to win the ball back, but you do find yourself with a very realistic amount of time on the ball.

As for progression, I'm only to the Spu*s game with Arsenal and SZCZ and Jack have already progressed 1 point. 3 CS out of 6 for SZCZ and not much in the way of goals or assists for Jack but still progressing. Lansbury on loan has also progressed a point to the good. Nice to see all of this happening at a good pace for youngsters.

So I was just thinking. I have the FourFourTwo season preview issue where it touches on every English League team. I remember some of the write-ups briefly talking about playing style. Nothing major, but just little comments. I'll give another look and try to compile them if they seem useful to the project.

What I've seen in my early play over the weekend is that crossing and shooting need to be bumped waaaay up from custom tactics of the past. I don't believe the CPU crosses enough, and when you are playing weaker teams they don't shoot from distance enough. Having a fun time with the game, but with the changed gameplay, custom tactics from the past are going to be hard to go by.

I disagree. I think they're a fantastic base, more so one of the links I posted that shows what each does rather well. Obviously just copying them from two years ago doesn't work, but they're excellent to start with.

I didn't mean all the tactics from the past are bad. They are a good base to go by. I do not like how they work for crossing and shooting. I am seeing too few crosses and too much effort by the cpu to get very close to goal before shooting.

I was seeing this too last night using the slider set by Altimus on World Class. I haven't applied any CTT yet, btw.
