How do you shoot?

Semi and manual is way too hard for me at this point so I don't like to use it online. But every time I shoot on automatic, it goes straight to the goalie. I'll have 10-15 shots on target but they're all straight at the goalie so I'll be lucky to get a goal. Any tips I may not be thinking of?

The best advice for now; use Semi.

Practice in the arena, and you'll get the hang of it. Before you know it, you'll be sliding them past the keeper and into the corner.

Re: How do you shoot?

For me... manual has been the only viable solution. With Semi-Assisted all my shots were going to the corners of the goal but the keeper would just magically save 98% of them. It felt way too scripted for me.

On manual I have full control and while this is very difficult it IS getting easier and I'm finding a lot of enjoyment with it. Plus, it puts more of a premium on getting your attacker well positioned to take the shot. When using semi-assisted it's like you can basically fire off a blistering shot in the blink of an eye no matter what position your player is in. But with manual shooting you have to take the time to ensure he's got good control of the ball and isn't horribly off-balanced. All this, of course, depends on his skill set - better players can get off quality shots while in less than ideal position.

Also - when shooting with highly skilled players it seems as if the aiming is more forgiving and less sensitive.

I find there are lots of factors going into the accuracy shot on Manual than on Semi. For example, on manual, you have to consider:
  • Player's Skills
  • Player's Balance
  • Player's pace at the time of shot
  • Foot the ball is on
  • Player's strong foot
While on Semi, these things don't matter as much, or at least it seems to me.

To this, I would add: Direction the player is facing in relation to the goal.

Semi isn't hard either. If you'll notice this year the keepers are **** so any decently aimed shot will go in this year all you have to figured out is the pace and power you want to put on the shot.

I love this addtion this year. Makes shooting a little harder but more realistic in that shooting far post is not easy .

I know. I still have to get rid of my bad habit from past years not using manual. I still try it and have only pulled it off a couple times. Many close calls.
