Goin to a fifa tournament tomorrow - need some tips

I'm goin over a friends house tomorrow with 9 other guys for a FIFA tournament. Not sure what team I will be using, but I haven't played the game yet, (played the demo) and I'm very adjusted to UEFA 2008. What differences should I be aware of when I play, and what should I try to get adjusted to?

What are the new cheese ways of scoring goals? lol

if they play anything like the randoms I've played online, expect them to hold down sprint and call defender buttons. You'll have to manually control a defender to cover the through balls.

Pick Liverpool and spam the lofted through ball to Torres. You will be money.

Try out Spurs. I've been burning defenders (even without mashing the turbo button) with Gio, Bent, and Modric...even Bentley has decent speed in the game.

Thats the best way to play this game bar none - playing your buddies on the same TV. I think you can get the most out of the game, don't have to worry about random unkowns online that lag, cheat and glitch... anything for the win. You have to play with some honor if the guy is sitting next to you.

You guys can set some house rules and tailor the game any way you want(no run-n-gun, pass at least 5 times before shooting etc.... As long as you guys pick similar level teams you should be cool.

How's the shooting? Is power more sensitive than last year when closer to the net? And is curling difficult? Has it changed?

How much auto switching should I use?

Thanks for the help.

Also, what should I know about crossing? How many times should I tap the cross button when on the left or right channel kicking it into the penalty box? When should I keep it on the ground?

Oh yeah, and what should I know about headers? Do I have to press press the header button early like in 08?

I prefer no auto-switching myself.

You can make the ball curve by holding up and to the left while pressing the shoot button.

If you're running with the ball, I would say it's better to do a line-drive cross. The lofted cross takes too long to get there and allows defenders to get back.
