Learn everything on Assisted save shooting which is best on semi. I'd say a lot of the guys who do the pretty stuff will use Pro for highlights and most likely WC for their normal play. I switched to Manual/Semi settings about 100 games into 08. The big thing is don't switch until the controls are second nature. Build a set of fundamental skills that you can pull at will on at least WC level. Take it easy as this game is really hard to control well. 09 will be more responsive, but still Madden's controls on their best day are shallow compared to Fifa. But push yourself to get passing to Manual ASAP. The game plays soooo much better and organic in manual passing. Hope this helps, Brian

The game is beyond frustrating using assisted passing at first. The ball just seems to move along rails when making a pass and everything seems predictable.

Re: For new Fifa players and guys who want to expand their game...

Preciate you posting these videos man. I'll definitely be watching these videos to get the hang of the moves in 09. I bought 08 a few months back(used copy)and it's pretty much been the only game I've been playing. I've also slowly but surely been starting to become a fan of soccer(still trying to learn each position and what they do but I'm getting there)But I'll definitely will be in a Gamestop first thing in the morning when this comes out.

It's amazing how I forgot how much fun soccer games are. Scoring goals on here are so rewarding and it kind've repays you for the work you put in towards getting the goal.

But again man, thanks for the vids and useful tips as well.

I can't stress enough how much different this game is with EVERYTHING set to Manual. So much more organic and realistic. It takes a lot of getting used to and practice but, once you get it done you'll be happy you made the change.

Re: For new Fifa players and guys who want to expand their game...

Playing on manual does make a pretty big difference, its a little tough though and takes time getting used to...I only recommend giving it a shot once you have the controls down...

Anyways here's part 2 of my freestyle video and thanks for that edit Brian...
