Also will we see more media coming out on the internet after this community event?

Great info so far, thanks for reporting.
The free kick system is similar to last year but, with the changes in ball physics there is a lot more spin on the kicks. It looks muuuuch better and definitely more realistic.

AT this point I'm not optimistic about some HUGE feature being announced in Leipzig later in August. I got the impression that the only thing that would come out of the conference would be the feature exclusive to the PS3 but, during my interview with Rutter he pretty much declined to answer anything about online mode. Tough to say what we should expect.

Look for more media to come out as we were told that they would supply us with new screen shots and videos. I WILL NOT give a time frame on when because they didn't give us one. So, stay tuned for that.

Expect to see a series videos called the "Making of FIFA 09". There will be a 10 minute preview and an extended 30 minute uncut version which will be part of a series of 8 or 9 videos. I was told to expect this "around release time".

Regarding the late release in the US, it is strictly a business decision to spread out the releases of NBA Live, FIFA, and I think TW. MAybe even NHL. It made sense.

List of NEW Controls:

-Call for a teammate on Corners

-Call for Layoff man

-Shoot with layoff man

-Pass with layoff man to third player

-Wall jump

-Bullet Man (player on the end of the wall will charge the shooter)

-Jockey Press
Hold LT/R2 and A/X to maintain a few yards distance from the dribbler and contain.
Release LT/R2 to go in for tackle at the right moment

-Running Jockey (A faster version of the Jockey Press) this helps eliminate the cut backs!!!

-Custom Team Tactics on the D Pad.

Correct. 13 hours yesterday followed by drinks and another 7 hours today. I'm now sitting in the airport with another community member waiting on my 11pm flight that gets me back to Chicago just in time to start work. That flight is only 3 hours away from departure and I've been sitting here for 3 already!

Ok, so now I'm just posting things as I can remember them:

Smarter through ball runs. Meaning that if your pass isn't perfect the CPU teammate has the intelligence to alter his run to where the ball is.

I didn't notice an increased number of cut scenes.

You guys should also know that the copy we played was NOT even a beta version. It was an actually in Alpha stage. The copy that everyone was "playing upstairs" had six more weeks of tuning than ours had. One of the producers actually told me that he was "embarrassed" that we were playing this build. I was told over and over that the current state of the game was much better than what we played.

There was no talk of new leagues

Stadiums that I saw in the game:

Allianz
Anfield
Bay Arena
British Lane
Camp Nou
Deutsch Stadion
Div 1 EUR
Div 1 UK
Div 2 EUR
Div 2 UK
Emirates
Azteca
Bombastico
Des Las Artes
Espanyol
Latin
Mestalla
Mexico
V. Calderon
Brazil
Football Ground- looks like a division 3 stadium
Africa
Europe 2
Square Open
Nordbank
Mediano Espanol
Millenium
Netherlands
Old Trafford
Olimpico Generic
Olympiastadion
Pars De Princess
San Siro
Signal Iduna
St. James
Gerland
Municipal
Velodrome
Aloha
Dell'Alpi
Italiano
Stadio Olimpico
Stadio 23 Maj-????????????????
Hanguk-?????????????
Stadion Olimpic
Stamford Bridge
Veltins
Wembley.

All cameras are adjustable for height and zoom. The Pro Cam can be adjustable for zoom, speed, and swing speed.

The referee will call delayed cards. So if you continue (advantage) on and score a goal or pass the ball out of bounds, or even something else, the official will still card the player who committed the foul.

briliant!

i'm loving the tatics stuff... it sounds like the enhanced gameplay and tatics will benefit the sim smart footballers who luv the game and like to play it the right way.

I really hope the card system has been fixed though... I want proof of that. that kills the game for me when playing someone online taking advantage of the crappy system.. I rather it be too strick than let people break ankles from behind and not get a red card.

I'm with you, if they haven't fix this part of the game it kills it for me. This is the main reason I didn't get Euro 2008.

I've been told by the producers and others who have played the most recent build that this was improved and we would be happy. Remember, not only has the collision system been rebuilt but, so has the referee decision making logic. That was told to me verbatim.

I know you said that MM was still the same but have there been even minor changes to it? Also talk about the collision factor is it truly godly?

Also I can't believe there is no WHL but there is st james etc. I heard there is a look a like WHL is that true. Thank you, you truly are the man.

Does this mean you can call a central defender to come up for a corner?
