I am completely happy with 2k8. I hope they add create a play, create a team (with more team customization). Add more editable content on players (so players don't look so terrible once 10 years into a franchise).

Besides that I am really happy with the 2k basketball series at least I will get my moneys worth.

exactly, people need to just realize that you can't judge a game based on an early build. 2k9 is still going to beat Live again this year as it has for a while. It doesn't matter what features EA releases, 2k's gameplay is what drives its success.

Re: NBA 2K9 (Hands-Off) First Look

I'm not sure the gameplay is "nailed" since the CPU can bullet backdoor bounce passes towards the basket with precision, but it is "lightyears ahead of Live's" gameplay. If EA can fix the responsiveness and offense/defense balance problem, 2k will have a problem.

I will be going to E for All and hopefully I will get a chance to play both games a few days before their release.

My opinion is that 2k never markets their game enough to beat Live's sales. A question comes to mind, though. If 2k spent money on the marketing, would they have the money and time to make the game as good as they do?

Re: NBA 2K9 (Hands-Off) First Look

Any information about the rumored halftime show and "NFL 2K5" presentation elements? A few rumors about a presentation overhaul floated around the boards after 2K8 came out. I think this "cinematic replay" feature may be a hint.

Re: NBA 2K9 (Hands-Off) First Look

I just hope that i the presentation gives some sense of atmosphere like the presentation of college hoops and espn nfl 2k5 did.( playing through season tended to get boring in 2k8.) from the pics seems like their touching up player models which is a + guys like T-MAC&MELO Looked terrible last year Lol! still early, Waiting to see more....
