What else do you do??? Why write dynasties?

I work pretty much from 9-5, come home, and sit around. I've got some extra activities, soccer mainly - but other than that I love to keep documentation on my franchise/dynasties.

The reason I've done this for as long as I have is because I love to keep track of what I'm doing in my reports. But the absolutely main reason if you ask me, is that it prevents me from hitting that restart button. It brings out the reality of what I have to do to get this dynasty/franchise started in the direction. Now that I've put it out there for the world to see, I can't just re-write it and say "oh, nevermind.". I'm not making a story here, I'm giving a very long version of a play by play.

The love to present with graphics and what not is something I have had in me for a while as well. From ESPN templates to CBS templates - I dunno, just making my reports look like websites or TV is my own escape from the lack of presentation in the games I play. Part of me has wanted to be a game designer, but not actually go through the meetings and conferences and the (what I'm sure of) verification process of implementation. I basically just want to show off my creativity.

The thought of having readers is a plus, but it's not something I strive for. My favorite report I have ever done was called Alive and Kicking: The Professional. The layout was weak, but the interaction amongst the community (MaddenNation soon called SportsGamer - now extinct) was thrilling. We actually had a LIVE draft - I think about 15 guys spent their entire Friday night online waiting to see where their CAP got drafted.

Yeah, I'm a nerd. But I have a woman who appreciates it and my goal is to someday get a good following and build a strong friendship with everyone.

What did you teach? English? I feel the same way about the write up approach. That creativity outlet is something I think mostly everyone here love to exhibit.

I am single and 49 years old, turning 50 the day after halloween.

I am a data center specialist for a HMO and work Thursday thru Saturday 6PM to 6AM plus every other Wednesday 6PM to 6AM Eastern Time in the U.S.A.

I bowl duckpins (a short squatty looking version of a tenpin) on Sunday thru Tuesday nights and every other Wednesday. I am also a member of the Professional Duckpin Bowlers Association.

I do it for the same reasons that you do and I also enjoy reading and/answering any comments or questions in my threads. My game postings try to give the reader an impression that they have a seat at the sporting venue as I provide play-by-play or blow-by-blow, if it is a wrestling thread. I also try to provide those "stats heads" with the most detailed stats package that I can. It may be a little more work than most people but it is a labor of love.

I write wrestling fics aswell, but got my start writing a NFL dynasty. Wrestling is much more involved as you really have to tell a story. In these types the game tells the story in how you play it and you have to just present it in a cool manner. I am like many of you as in I love to try and keep it all as realistic as possible and to be able to have a paper trial of what I did so it don't seem like a waste of time to just going through the game. I am a stat freak so that adds to it all. I play a lot of RPG's. I play through one and 6 months later I forgot a bunch of what the story of the game was. This way I won't forget.

I am also a history guy. I love old school!!! I have a NASCAR dynasty (on hold) using NASCAR Racing 2003 Season that starts in 1980. My wrestling fictional is WWF in the year 1989 and my Baseball dynasty is set in 1994. I love to be able to go back in time and re-write history and be able to tell the story as to why it all happened.

I am 33 years old. I coach my own softball team and play in many turnaments. I am a pretty good pool player and play in turnaments there aswell. I run in online NASCAR leagues using the afore mentioned NASCAR sim, but otherwise I am kind of an antisocialist. I don't hang out much anymore. I guess I got enough of that when I was younger. I have a wife, a 13 year old daughter and a baby boy thats due any week now.

I was a Social Studies/Government/Economics Teacher. I Substitue taught for 3 years and was a full time teacher for 1 year at an inner city Charter School here in Toledo, OH budget cuts 3 years ago forced a career change and I returned to Chick-fil-a where I worked all through college and while working as a Sub. I wish the economy was better so I could risk a career change but, I now make too much $$ to try a change. My dream job is to own my own Comic book shop and write/draw my own book. Maybe someday but, I will be 30 this year and I hope my window of opprotunity isn't closing.

Let's see, I'm 20, work as tiler, 6-4 Monday to Friday, coach baseball and play it still, though not at a highly competitive level like I used to. I write dynasty stories just to keep track more than anything, but I'll only start one on here if I feel it'll be realistic (hence why I never posted my 10 year Atlanta Thrashers dynasty for NHL 09).

Yes, I follow the CFL but not as closely as I use to. I use to have a CFL board game that was kind of like Strat-o-matic Football.
