Your journal looks great. I wish that I had the ability at times to show pictures.

A couple of questions for you:

1) How do you like HC?

2) What are some of the differences between the new edition and the origional?

3) Has the playcalling changed and are you able to change the minutes of the games played?

hey don the iPhone makes it so easy for me, i snap the pic and it auto-uploads everything it's literally one button.. why not take advantage of it!

1) love it.. i am a coach player.. i like the strategizing part, the building part, etc..

2)-the original had more mundane tasks.. like i remember the original where you can set weekly practices per day on what to train and whether it's light practice, heavy, full hitting, etc..

-this edition is by far more streamlined and the UI is better.. it flows perfectly.. the best part is the COACHES CLIPBOARD where everything, literally gets funneled to and you can choose which tasks to delegate/etc..

-i think the delegation part is great because some of us suck at negotiating like me so i let my gm negotiate contracts

-there's a Team Philosophy part and i can't remember if the original HC has a feature in it and it's nice.. it literally lets you shape and mold your team to your image.. what's nice about it is if you set your OL to Zone Blocking for example.. then a true big ole OL would be a bad fit for your team.. so the philosophy changes reflect the OVR and POT of your players which is realistic

overall i'd say it's a 8/10 game.. wish it had madden 09 graphics cuz i like eye candy as well and of course a better run game but then again i foresee people cmoplaining that their team has rushed 50 times in a game, with a 2ypc and why isn't it throwing more

A break from the games going forward i'll be doing a league-wide update every quarter.. aka every 4 weeks, lol

but, this is my team..
maybe i overrated them in my head..
maybe the talent isn't there..
but i for one thought the talent alone would be at LEAST a .500 record

MY 49ers team starters.. it ain't that bad.. I mean it's pretty good
OFFENSE
QB - A. Smith - 82ovr 85pot 86thp 89tha 75awr

--hoping to climb into the top 6 and sneak into a wildcard playoff spot.. but first thing's first..

gotta get to at least .500 and work from there why on earth did i ever make a preseason promise of playoffs?! PLAYOFFS?! ...you, you talkin about, PLAYOFFS?!

Re: Goldrush for Glory! - 49ers, a Franchise Reborn [NFL HC 09]

My iPHone app malfunctioned and didn't upload any of my game shots i thought it did, i wasn't able to check flickr until today and das when i noticed

anyhows like 2 games have passed by i didnt get shots for but that's ok.. i'll just do quick summaries for them

WEEK 10 - 12
Linden Hill, Aug 31, 2008

overall record: 5-6
--the Cowboys game on week 12 was a great great game between two .500 teams I was so happy that my team FINALLY clawed up from 3-5 to be 5-5 but they couldn't seal the deal against the cowboys to get their first game above .500
---my QB Smith threw a crucial int in OT and that gave the game to Dallas

still 5-6.. haven't yet gotten above .500 this season.. at what point do I call it a season.. and worse due to my preseason promise.. a failed season

the only bright spot right now is that I am technically, STILL ALIVE for the playoffs

Re: Goldrush for Glory! - 49ers, a Franchise Reborn [NFL HC 09]

Linden Hill, Aug 31, 2008

--vs Bills: it started with the defensive trouncing of the Bills.. the defense forcing 4 turnovers.. led to an easy blowout win.. even the 2nd string played all of the 2nd half it was that dominant a performance!

--vs Jets: FINALLY.. the first game over .500!! it's starting to look better.. the team seemingly gets it

---vs Dolphins: it is always great to see the Dolphins on the schedule.. it's almost a guaranteed win sorry MIA fans but it's true.. lol another dominant performance by the 49ers D forcing the ball over 3 times and Frank Gore and the RB core had a monster game.. Frank Gore had 2 rushing TD's in the first qtr alone.. unfortunately.. it did break his arm and will sideline him for 3-5 weeks

still.. 3 game win streak! 8-6.. and with the Rams and Redskins left on the schedule.. favorable odds shine on my team as the last 5 remaining games were all against subpar teams!

I MAY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS AFTER ALL!!! How sweet would that be?! struggling this much.. climbing out of a hole.. now we must keep our focus and keep plugging away at this and I may yet keep my preseason promise

Re: Goldrush for Glory! - 49ers, a Franchise Reborn [NFL HC 09]

Regular Season Week 16
St. Louis Rams [4-10] vs [8-6] SF 49ers

Game Result:
Linden Hill, Aug 31, 2008
-you know, I thought my team finally got it..
-I was feeling good.. 3 game winstreak.. 2 games above .500, with the remaining two teams subpar teams who really should just tank the season to get better draft position..
----THIS IS WHY, WE PLAY THE GAME
-I was never in this one.. what's ironic is that my biggest team assessment from the beginning of this franchise.. is exactly what killed me

Steven Jackson goes bananas
Bushwick, Aug 31, 2008
-this is what an elite back does to unprepared and undermanned defenses...
-just couldn't stop him.. stacked the line.. blitzed.. he broke thru tackles, span, trucked, he did it all..
---he basically won this game for the rams

...a game I desperately needed to try and keep my preseason promise of making the playoffs was lost because of my teams' inability to stop the running game.. maybe it's the team.. at this point I'm wondering if it's me

8-7... one game left, I definitely need to take that game against the coming Redskins and throw my 49ers in the playoff dance... all I need is a chance baby, just a chance!
