Phillies Make Splash At Winter Meetings!

Wednesday, November 25th, 1964: Parker and Boozer Traded
Today at a press conference the Los Angeles Dodgers announced a trade has been completed with the Philadelphia Phillies. The Dodgers have shipped 25-year old first baseman Wes Parker to the Phillies for 26-year old starting pitcher John Boozer.

In his 121-game career, Parker has hit at a .265 clip and collected 73 hits with 10 doubles, 3 triples, 2 homers and 24 RBIs.

His career totals show Boozer has a 19-10 won-lost record with a 3.22 ERA.
Wednesday, November 25th, 1964: SP Kaat Agrees to New Pact with Phillies
Philadelphia management was cautiously optimistic this afternoon as Jim Kaat formally signed a $1,570,170 contract with the organization. Known for his flippant, carefree attitude, and for his lack of loyalty to a club, many in the upper echelon feared the temperamental starting pitcher would cause a scene, or, worse yet, back out of the deal at the last minute. Neither happened, and the fans are warming up to the deal, provided Kaat confines his talking to the diamond.

During his career Kaat's won-lost record is 42 wins and 53 losses with a 3.85 ERA. He has limited other teams to a .253 average.
