Bush League and I bit.

So do you guys use guess pitch on-line? This guy was getting pissed when I kept guessing his pitches right and went up 2 to 1 in the 7th on HIS throwing error but the funny thing is I only had 1 hit. He pauses and sent a message saying that I always use guess and to step up my game. Im like whatever and quit using it for an inning. Basically I let him rattle me ended up losing 3 to 2 in the bottom 9th. So is that bush league on his part or me for biting on his whining and not finishing him off. LOL!! Sorry guys just a rant. Looking for some opinions.

Guess pitch is why I won't bother playing DD online. I don't mind it against the CPU since I feel like they have an advantage anyway (and I only use it when I'm slumping) but against players I'll try to avoid it. However, in your case, its part of the game and you shouldn't let him gripe at you for it. Guess pitch IS beatable so he should have stepped up his game.

Re: Bush League and I bit.

Ignore people like this online. I encountered a guy cussing me out, hoping my mother would die, etc., because I would throw Curveballs low in the zone with Wainwright and he would chase them. First of all...that is Wainwrights best pitch and secondly he only has 4 pitches as it is. I am not goi ng to throw fastballs down the middle on a 0-2 count. It was his fault he was chasing. I can definitely lay off that pitch.

Next of all people get mad when people beat them and start making up excuses. You weren't cheating or anything. You simply used it to your advantage. The point is trying to win in DD and move up in the standings...why wouldn't you use guess pitch if it can benefit you? People think you should play like them for some reason, but in reality you paid 60 bucks for YOUR game. You can play how you want in my book, as long as you aren't cheating or exploiting anything.

Do you think this guy would be mad if he was beating you 10-0? No, it isn't a matter of him being mad how you were playing, but it is a matter of the fact you were beating him so they'll accuse you of not being fair or legit. Don't let people like this bother you. Just because he chose not to use guess pitch doesn't mean everyone he plays has to do the same. If he can't stand it then he needs to stay offline or just suck it up.

I dont mind ppl using guess pitch against me...doesnt their pci become smaller if they guess wrong? Sometimes its easy to beat someone with guess pitch because they always guess the same pitch i.e. low fastball so i just mix up my location/pitches

I am starting to think it may hurt you more than it helps. I'll guess a location and time the pitch perfectly and just keep flying out. I really don't understand it. I wish there was an indepth analysis of the guess pitch/location. Is there a rating boost if you guess right or vice versa?

Re: Bush League and I bit.

To me guess pitch is ridiculous. I understand why people use it, and if I see the other guy is doing it, I usually will, too. But it's a dumb feature. In real life I don't get to know if a pitch is going to be on the outside corner and hard. I just look fastball, just like I can without using guess pitch. It makes the game a lot less enjoyable, especially when a pitcher only has one offspeed pitch or one fastball. If my guy has a 4-seamer, a change and a curve, then if you guess fastball every time you know exactly what speed is coming with each pitch. I really only throw guys that carry two fastballs, and it makes it a little more balanced.

Just try to play without using guess pitch. You can still "guess pitches", just don't use the buttons. If you think it's going to be offspeed low-and-in, then look for it. The difference is, if you're wrong you're going to look silly on a fastball up, instead of knowing you're wrong before the pitch comes in.

There should be an option to play only GP people or non-GP people, and everything would be fine.

I think guess pitch hurts you a hell of a lot more than it helps.

I`ve stopped using it this year after I figured that out. I also find if people are using it against me online and guessing low fastball all the time I just throw low fastballs out of the zone and they chase 100% of the time.

Re: Bush League and I bit.

Is there a way to play online head to head without guess pitch in DD?

I agree, but I am going to use it every time since there is no way to take it off for online. I almost feel like I start to rely on it and only swing at pitches in my zone, but it does make me a bit better. I play with it off for my franchises and such, but I see no benefit to not using it online. It just makes things a little easier and most people use it anyways.

Re: Bush League and I bit.

The thing that erks me about GP is the fact that it seems to put your pitch where ever it feels like that batter will get a hit... for instance i will throw a curve into the dirt with the pitch maxed out (the blue) and if he guesses it then it will put the pitch in a hitable location which is complete bull****.
