Recruiting Tips?

I'm lost... I really have no idea whats the proper way to go about it. Like how often I should contact the player? When should I start contacting the player? When should I offer the scholarship...

Re: Recruiting Tips?

I myself was always curious about the ABL. I usually would go through and pick the region and games I wanted to take part in each week but I was curious, is playing out every ABL game really worth it? And how many bonus recruiting points do you receive if you play through every ABL game?

Re: Recruiting Tips?

I've never played any ABL games, but have also never came close to running out of recruiting points.

Re: Recruiting Tips?

the only reason i don't play abl games is because i don't receive recruiting time. I don't run out of points before i run out of time

Re: Recruiting Tips?

One of the most important things I could imagine learning about recruiting in this game. USE your assistants. They should be the primary recruiting options with maybe a e-mail from the head coach. Now I understand lots of schools don't have the ability to send out a B+ overall assistant, but the less the HC has to do...the more he focuses on practices.

Also, you want to try and schedule visits during a signing week.

Re: Recruiting Tips?

Its not so much the points you get from ABL but the info you find out about each recruit.
You can look at stats all day and no really know how the kid plays. I love playing against a kid im recruiting and seeing him manning the low post or dropping 30 on me from deep.

Its more of a good scouting tool.

Re: Recruiting Tips?

ABL is worth seeing your picks play at least anything else is not worth the time. You only get 40 points from playing a game no matter how long it is. I usually just see my picks play to see if they fit my style of play.

Yeah start when they are a JR. SO & FR you can only call once or twice a year. When it comes to recruiting JR's its more of a hit and miss. You keep in contact with them and when they are seniors, they may be top 10.

Re: Recruiting Tips?

i didnt really mess with legacy mode at all in the past few years. but im getting into it now.

Im confused. After using up some TRAIN time (-30 x 2) for some recruiting trips, does that have a big effect on my TRAINING in the DEVELOPMENT section of coaching options? I set each player to focus on three different things each week. If all three coaches have their 120 train time each week, are effects better than when I dont?

i havent really seen this written clearly anywhere. Right now, I have 90 train for head coach, 60 for assistant 1, and 120 for the other assistant.

is my assumption right in that if I dont waste time going out visiting a player, my CURRENT players will develop better in the current season. I know 90 seems to always be set for game for all of my coaches. Does practice plays have any effect when I use up the "train" points?

Do I need to spread out my visits to a recruit? Ive taken three home visist within the first three weeks? Will some guys commit later than others? Ive already offered my three scholarships early within a month of the season starting. im just confused on the whole philsophy

Can anyone direct me in the right direction?

I know theres a period in the beginning of the season for signing recruits lasting a week.

after that march 2nd hits and In season recruiting ends.
around april 13th, offseason recruiting BEGINS
Then May 18th signing period ends..

I'm a big bball fan but never have been too into the technical side of things. Should I be waiting for the early signing period or what happens after April 13th for my players. I feel im rushing too fast if this process can take upwards of 20 weeks in game.
