Re: 2008-2009 OS Roster Project

Here are some MVC ratings including the Freshman:

List of Recruits from the MVC: http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recru...2008&confId=18

SIU will be more in depth. SIU may struggle, but they are loaded with young talent and guard depth. I would say they should be 77-78 overall.

Go Here: http://siusalukis.cstv.com/sports/m-...skbl-body.html
Click on 08-09 Roster on the upper right hand side. I can't open it at since I am at work.

Bryan Mullins PG(Starter) 3 PT Shot 82-85. He shot 41% from 3 last year. Make his defense awr, on ball def, passing, ball handling, off awr, clutch factor all go up a little. He should probably be around 81-82 after you are done. He will be a top 10 PG IMO. Sig Shot-Guards 7

Wesley Clemmons SG(Starter) 3 PT shot 73-74. He should be around 72-74 overall. Sig Shot-Guard 5

Joshua Bone SG (Starter). Vertical and ball handling should go up some. He is actually going to be a Junior, not a sophmore. He never got redshirted his Freshman season. He may receive another year of eligibility later on, but he is considered a junior this year. He should be around 75-76 overall. Sig Shot-Guard 9

Tony Boyle PF (Starter). Rebounding, post def, def awr should increase some and mid range should be 75. He should be around a 75-76 overall when you are done with him. He is a banger down low.

Carlton Fay PF (Starter/6th man). Hustle, defense awr should go up. 3 point shot should be around 75. And please change his hair to Blonde. Here is what he looks like: http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/...t/1512390.jpeg
I would say Fay is 72/73 overall.

Anthony Booker PF Freshman (6th man/starter). 6'8 205. Honestly, I don't know too much about him. I have a feeling he will start later on in the season. He is a 4 star and ranked 21st among PF's. Here is what he looks like: http://southernillinois.scout.com/a....=1&nid=3001146
I suspect he will be a lot like Jermaine Dearman and Randal Falker. Make his defense, rebounding, post def, post off all respectable. I would rate him around 75-77 as a freshman. It is up to you. I would give him a B+ potential.

Nick Evans RS Freshman Center Carbondale, IL. I have actually played ball with him at the rec. Make his rebounding, defense, blocked shots respectable. I would not rate him any higher than a 70 though. 68-70 overall with C potential. He also has a nice mid range shot. I would say make it 73 mid rangel and his 3 pt shot a 65 overall.

Kevin Dillard Freshman PG. 5-10/160. Chicago, IL http://southernillinois.scout.com/a....=1&nid=1726242
He is a 3 star and rated 19th among PG's. He was Mr. Basketball of Illinois. I would try to rate him around 72-73 overall with a B potential. Make his speed, ball handling, 3 pt shot all pretty good.

Justin Bocot-SG Freshman SG 6'2 170 http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75...=1&nid=1936645
He actually sit out last year due to academic reasons.
Strengths: Big Time Scorer and Versatility
Weaknesses: Perimeter Shot and Strength
I would make him a 69-70 overall with B- potential.

Torres Roundtree-SG Freshman 6'3 185. http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75...=1&nid=1968872
He played with Anthony Booker in HS at McCluer North HS in Florissant, MO.
Strengths: Athletic, Versatile, Scoring, Defense
Weaknesses: Perimeter Shot, Rebounding, Awr
I would say 69-70 overall with B- potential.

Ryan Hare- SG 6-4 200 Freshman Chicago, IL
http://southernillinois.scout.com/a....=1&nid=2551479
http://www.midstatehoops.com/players...ryan_hare.html
Strengths: Athletic, Rebounding, close shot, finishing in traffic, defense
Weaknesses: Ball Handling and Long Range Shooting
I would say 71-72 overall with B Potential

Christian Cornelius- SF 6'7 205. He was plagued with injuries last year. Christian is indeed coming back.
Strengths: Defense, Hustle
Weakness: Shooting, explosiveness, injury plagued
I would rate him 65-67 overall. He is a decent player when healthy.

Tony Freeman (JR) transfer from Iowa. He has to sit out a year. I would keep his ratings about the same from when he was at Iowa. You might want to increase his overall by 1.

I also have some Sig shots for these. If you know that Sig shot for Lindsey Hunter and Jarvis Hayes in NBA, well Mullins is exactly like that. He has a slow delayed shot. I am not sure what it is called, since I am not home right now.

Give Bone a more authentic shot, rather than the one he has now. I gave him a different one.

Creighton: I am just going to do the Freshman. They had a young team last season. I would make Patrick Allen Stinnett their best player around 77 overall. Just increase everyone else's overall 1-2 points.

I think they should be 77-78 overall, as well.

Here are the incoming Freshman:

Antoine Young 5-11 165 PG Bellevue, NE 2 star
Picture: http://a19.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/...d44f15214a.jpg
http://creighton.scout.com/a.z?s=456...=1&nid=2095278
I don't know much about him. He is only a 2 star though. I would say 65-66 overall with C-/D+ potential. He may get redshirted.

Josh Jones 6'2 175 SG Omaha, Nebraska
http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/...Xa3NE/610x.jpg
Another 2 star. I don't know about these guys. I would say again 65-66 overall with C-/D+ potential.

JUCO:
Justin Carter SG 6'4 200 Gaithersburg, Maryland
http://www.omaha.com/neo-images/phot...29jlcarter.jpg
Strengths: Athletic, Versatile, Quick
Weaknesses: Shooting
66-67 overall with C potential

Tom Whitehead SF 6'7 190 Prescott, AZ
Strengths: Rebounding, Blocking, Off Post, 3 Pt shooting, versatility
Weakness: A tweener, strength, etc
72 overall with C+ Potential
http://thebluejaycafe.com/BB/viewtop...1ed7ef0f5253ce

Drake: Josh Young should be their best player around 79 overall. Jonathan Cox should be their 2nd best player around 74-75 overall. I think this team will struggle some. Emmenecker, Houston, and Korver all graduated. They should be around 72-73 overall.

Freshman: Only 1 committed
Sean Jones 2 star 6-11, 210 C Carson City, MI
http://drake.scout.com/a.z?s=458&p=8&c=1&nid=3142672
Strengths: Complementary Player, Size for Position
Weaknesses:Competitiveness, Potential/Upside
I say make him 64 overall with D+ potential.

JUCO:

Craig Stanley PG 5'11 170 Plano, TX Junior
Strengths: Off AWR, Passing, 3 point shooting, finishes well inside
Weaknesses: limited Potential, undersized
http://www.ccccd.edu/athletics/mb_bios.htm#stanley
I say 66-68 overall with C potential.

Illinois State:
This team is really talented, although they lost some players. I say rate them 75-76 overall.

Eldridge is their best player, by far. He is an absolute beast. Him and Mullins may the be the best players in the MVC. He was only rated like a 72-73 overall last season. IMO, he should be an 80 overall with B potential. He averaged 16 ppg last season. He can create his own shot and shot a solid 39% from 3 last season.

JUCO:

Bobby Hill 6'6 205 SF 3 Star Lincoln, IL- I guess he sit out a year due to academic reasons, and he actually transferred. He will be a Sophomore or Junior.
http://www.pantagraph.com/content/ar...5311989322.jpg
Strengths: Strength, Rebounding, Slashing, Finishing strong
Weakness: Discipline problems, injury prone, long range shooting
71 overall with C+ potential

Lloyd Phillips 5'10
http://athletics.iwcc.edu/!images/mbbplayers/12Phillips.jpg
Honestly don't know much about him at all.

Freshman:

Jeremy Robinson 6'8 215 PF -ESPN has him ranked 36 among PF's
Strengths: Rebounding
73 overall with B- Potential
http://illinoisstate.scout.com/a.z?s...=1&nid=2358410

Ty Modupe 6'7 205 PF Highland Park, Kansas
http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/...n/1594709.jpeg
65 overall with C- Potential

Kenyon Smith 5'11 170 PG Council Bluffs, Iowa
http://www.pantagraph.com/content/ar...c291991765.jpg
66 overall with C- Potential

Evansville: I doubt they will be any good. I say 70-72 overall. They only have one committed Freshman.

Freshman:

Denver Holmes 6'4 180 SG Olathe, KS
Another 2 star recruit, don't expect much from him.

Bradley:

Freshman:
Eddren McCain 5'11 160 PG Reserve Christian (LA) 2 star 75 grade on ESPN
http://bradley.scout.com/a.z?s=455&p=8&c=1&nid=1726550
Strengths: Mid Range shot, ball handling, speed
Weaknesses: Long Range Shot, Strength
67-69 overall

Darian Norris 5'11 160 PG Las Vegas, Nevada 2 Star
http://vmedia.rivals.com/IMAGES/PROS...RRIS6_7150.JPG

JUCO:
Dodie Dunson 6'2 190 PG/SG JR
http://bradley.scout.com/a.z?s=455&p=8&c=1&nid=3708516
2 Star Bloomington,Indiana transferred from Iowa St.
Strengths: Free Throw Shooting, Strength for a PG
Weaknesses: Shooting and Scoring
70 overall

Chris Roberts 6'3 165 SG

Re: 2008-2009 OS Roster Project

Please feel free to give feedback on my suggestions for Memphis Tiger's 09 roster additions. It is boring at work, and well....I don't mind helping out.

Incoming Freshmen

Tyreke Evans: 6'5 210 lbs SG

Strengths: 3pt shooting, passing, shooter all around, slasher, vertical, dunking, offensive awareness, quick, speed, Very High Potential (likely one and done)

Areas for Improvement: Rebounding (off and def), on ball defense, shooting off dribble

Wesley Witherspoon: 6'8 185 lbs PG/SG/SF

Strengths: Very versatile, Potential (could be a 2-3 year college player before turning pro), ball handling, passing, offensive and defensive awareness, more of a slasher than a shooter, good not great speed and quickness, avg vertical and dunking

Weakness: 3pt shooting, strength, low post offense/defense

Angel Garcia: 6'10 210 lbs PF/SF

Strengths: Versatile small forward/power forward. More of a finesse player. 3 point range, potential, good speed for a big

Weaknesses: Rebounding, strength, ball handling, low post offense

Matt Simpkins: 6'8 215 lbs PF

Strengths: Vertical, Dunking, Strength, Defensive awareness, low post defense, blocking, off/def rebounding, quickness, speed.

Weakness: 3 pt shot, low-post offense, mid-range. Not much of a shooter. Avg. ball handler.

Junior College Transfer (will play this year)

Roburt Sallie: 6'5 190 lbs SG/PG Will be classified as Junior

Strengths: 3pt Shooting, Mid-range, also slashing guard. Can play a little point, but more of a scoring guard. Speed, quickness, passing, ball handling

Weaknesses: Rebounding, on ball defense

(Honestly....not a whole lot of info out there on him except he played prep ball with Antonio Anderson and Robert Dozier on undefeated prep team. Should gel nicely with existing players)

Doneal Mack is now back at Memphis.....I guess UNO wasn't what he was hoping for....anyways, glad to have him back.

That is all I have for now. I hope this helps the cause. I can't wait until next season. Memphis is a huge college basketball city, and I think the rest of the country got to witness that this past season. Here's to a great season of college basketball for all of us.
