Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I'm in year eight of a closed dynasty, and I'm in my 3rd year with SIU. We've followed the momentum from last years sweet 16 run into the first few games, running a record of 5-2 with a few key wins, including a big win over #7 Florida in Gainesville. We just lost a heartbreaker to a hot Dayton team 88-84, but hopefully we can bounce back against #10 Ok St. this upcoming week.

The fun part about this game is when you really get a feel for your team. This team isn't as fun as last years because our run was a but out of nowhere, but in the same way I think this is a better team. We go into the year as conference favorites. I'm returning my freshman all american center Griffin, and my SG Bruce and SF Gates have been great support options. My big weakness is at the PG spot. My starter is a freshman, and his backup isn't a true PG. Because of this we struggle to get into our offense when the bench comes in.

All in all, I'm looking forward to a good season in the MVC. I've never been ranked in the top 25 in my 8 seasons, but I think this is the year we finally break in. We'll see what happens.

Deleted all of my save files for ch2k8, fresh start, new legacy, new everything, debating if I want to keep track of it.

It would be cool if you posted your new legacy in the dynasty section if your into that kind of thing.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Dang, I just realized this thread is for Closed Legacy. haha Oh well, I'll still post my progress unless someone comes along and complains about it.

Part 1

Current Record for 2011-2012 Season: (12-0) Rank #4
at Alabama (9-4) W 66-60 (Bradford 23pts, 12reb: Close game. Many lead changes. Came down to final two minutes of the game where we hit a much needed three point shot that forced them to foul us. We made our freethrows and got the win. First double-double for Bradford.)

at Gambling (3-10)
W 76-51 (Bradford 18pts, 10reb: Easy game, easy win. We simply outshooted this team and it shows in the stats: the highest scorer on Gambling's team was their starting senior SG Tyler Brittian, who scored 11 points on 4-13 shooting. He was the only player on their team to score double digits.)

vs Jackson St. (1-11)
W 76-44 (Clarke 17reb: Major blowout. Many players contributed with Bradford scoring 13, McLemore scoring 14, Shazier with 10 and Reid with 11, so four players scoring in double digits. Most importantly was a career high 17 rebounds from the tallest Big in the country: Marko Clarke. Our starting C, Dennis, got injured early on in the 1st half, and Clarke played the rest of the game afterward. He kept Jackson St. from getting second chance points, which helped us reach blowout territory early in the game since our shots were falling.)

vs Howard (1-10) W 77-51 (Bradford 17pts 9reb, 4ast: Probably our worst shooting night from behind the arc with 2-17 3PT, but we still managed a blow out due to second chance points and the fact Howard had a hard time scoring against us. I know in this game, you can still use injured players seemingly without any penalties to their stats when their injured, but I choose to sit them out until they recover. So I placed our starting C, Dennis, on the reserved list and put our 7 sixer in the lineup. He had an decent performance (11pts, 8reb), but it's his first time playing as a starter, so I'll give him some time.)

vs Florida (7-7)
W 82-55 (Shazier 18 Pts, 6ast, 3stl: Florida totally fell off during my 4-simulation year period in my legacy; they're not even ranked. They even have a freshman PG who is an 89 overall, but is on the bench because he's only shooting a meager 13% (18/129) for FG and 7% (5/64) for 3P for the season so far, which is totally laughable for a HSAA Mr.BB caliber player, almost impossible in real life if you ask me. Can you say college bust? This team was so easy to beat I almost felt sorry for them because they were missing layups as well as freethrows.)

To be continued...

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

well, what I feared has happened. I was terminated from URI. I finished my last season at URI with an overall record of 13-20, 8-8 in conf play(my best showing, as headcoach of URI). I completed 5 seasons all under .500, no NCAA tourney bids.
I was offerd a job from Central Arkansas and accepted the 4 year term.
However, I wont start another seaosn till maybe July or August as its time to put CH2k8 away for the spring and part of summer. Its time to start focusing on my MLB the Show and MLB2k virtual seasons.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Just started a new Career a week ago with the Southern University Jaguars. I'm using raidersfan's 2012 roster and m's sliders with some minor tweaks. I'm going to be doing write-ups as the season progresses. Check out my dynasty write-ups and let me know what you think.

I love this game!

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

So after almost getting fired at Elon in my lastest coaching legacy, I finally made it to 2023, and took the UNC job, they haven't been to the tournament since the year after Roy Williams retired, I was debating writing about rebuilding UNC, but got anxious and already went through the first season (cut like half of the team), now with the #3 recruiting class coming in (5* PG, 5* SG, 4*SF, 3* C) we're looking to make some noise, I was able to sneak into the tournament my first year, but not by much, I was probably the last team in. Coaching Career was as follows

07-08 Elon 6-24 - No Tournament
08-09 Elon 16-15 - No Tournament
09-10 Elon 12-20 - No Tournament
10-11 Elon 20-9 - NCAA 2nd Round
11-12 Elon 26-4 - NCAA 2nd Round
12-13 Elon 30-1 - NCAA Sweet Sixteen
13-14 FAU 20-12 - NIT 3rd Round
14-15 FAU 24-8 - NCAA 1st Round
15-16 FAU 28-4 - NCAA 2nd Round
16-17 FAU 29-5 - NCAA Elite Eight
17-18 FAU 30-2 - NCAA Final Four
18-19 FAU 31-2 - NCAA Final Four
19-20 FAU 29-4 - NCAA Final Four
20-21 FAU 31-2 - NCAA Sweet Sixteen
21-22 UNC 20-12 - NCAA 1st Round
22-23 UNC ?-?
