I'll try to upload it this weekend then. Since I don't have a lot of time to work on the actual editing on the game, maybe I could help with ratings and so forth. I do have some time at work usually that I could possibly use for that. There's also a chance I could get some teams edited on the game itself, but probably not conferences.

I know it sounds like a lot of work, but I would probably approach the rosters by getting as much organized and down on paper (or spreadsheets) first, then make the changes on the game based on that. I'm talking about getting the rosters written down, along with rating ideas, appearance notes, and so forth. That's how I've done my roster projects in the past, although I've never quite taken on one this involved. Mine have always been for the current season so the rosters were somewhat correct before I even started editing.

That sounds sensible...would definitely speed up the process. Instead of looking at my laptop, making edits, etc. I'd have it all there in front of me. However, I probably won't make too many changes to the appearances outside of the teams I watch the most. My ratings will also be based on my own naked eye, so maybe you could help me out with that.

Looking forward to getting started on this!

Don't worry about that Roster - I finally was able to get on 2K Share last night...downloaded a good 08-09 roster that I'm going to work on. Will probably stick to my original plan and just edit the "major conferences" plus some mid-majors (Gonzaga, Western Kentucky, St. Mary's, etc.) over the next month. I'll put it on 2K Share when I'm finished.

Does it have the team name glitch? That's one of the reasons I decided to do my own for 07-08. I decided not to edit any courts or coaches and only players because I hate that stupid generic team name glitch. I worked some on my 07-08 rosters last night editing ratings of some of the guys that were freshmen or sophomore that season. I'm also going to go ahead and change the class of all the underclassmen that went pro this season so when simming it should come out right. For instance, I'll be making Blake G. from Oklahoma a Junior on the 07-08 set so whenever I sim to the 09-10 season, he will have graduated. I usually sim and play with no transfers or early entries to keep things more realistic.

I think I'm just going to sim a few years with my 07-08 rosters and use generic guys in my next legacy since I don't have a lot of free time to do updated rosters. I can still help out some on your set though if you would like for me to.

Wow guys, good luck with this project. I can't wait. I can't even imagine how frustrating and time consuming this is. I can't wait to try these out. Once again, thanks.

I don't think it has the team name glitch, but I could be wrong....and I understand why you "sim ahead" with your rosters...did that myself last year.

That's probably going to be my biggest quirk, i.e., starting a dynasty in 07-08 with 09-10 rosters. I wish there was some way we could choose the year we began our dynasties. However, I've never really gotten into dynasty mode so I wanted to give it a shot this summer whenever I got bored with MLB 2009. I figure I will play 5-7 seasons with a mid-major team and then work my way up to a big-time program. By then, it won't matter because all of the players will be, for the most part, fictional players....and I'm cool with that.

The biggest reason I'm doing this roster update is because I plan on purchasing NBA 2K8 for my PS3 (last owned it when I had an X-Box 360). I miss running my own pro franchise and drafting players that I play with in College Hoops. I really got into the NBA playoffs this year for some reason and it gave me the urge to do this. Well, that and UK has added players like John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe, and Daniel Orton who will definitely make both games more enjoyable for me.

So far I have completed the SEC and ACC. I plan on doing the 9 "major" conferences (ACC, Big 12, Big 10, Big East, SEC, Atlantic 10, Mountain West, Pac 10, Conference USA) and getting rid of mid-major stars who graduated or turned pro early. I plan on this being finished around 4th of July if everything turns out okay.

I'll keep everyone posted as I progress. Thanks for your interest!

Re: 2009-2010 PS3 Roster Project

6/21/09 UPDATE: Below is where I'm at with this project. I plan on having these done by 6/26/09.

Conferences finished: SEC, ACC, Atlantic 10, Big 12, Big 10, Big 12, Big East

Conferences that still need to be edited: Pac 10, Missouri Valley, Mountain West and Conference USA + Gonzaga, Butler, etc.

It takes me about 2-2 1/2 hours to edit a single conference...so if anyone is interested in doing some of the smaller conferences let me know!

P.S. - I want to warn the diehard simmers out there - this roster is going to be far from perfect. I'm sure I have left/will leave off some recruits, mis-edit classifications here and there, and spelled some names wrong. I haven't double checked jersey #'s either, so some of them may be wrong. Also, the file from which I'm working with had some very pecuiliar individual ratings for some teams. I have to believe that the ratings for this particular file were last updated BEFORE last season. Nevertheless, I'm trying my best to get the rosters as accurate as possible - just don't have too high of expectations because they will be far from perfect!

Re: 2009-2010 PS3 Roster Project

Just bought this game today through GameStop's B2G1 used game sale. I've been looking into getting the game for a while and it was this roster project being my main motivation behind it.

Looking forward to it and a big thanks in advance to all of you who are helping to work on these rosters!
