One Central roster file- 360 (roster makers please respond)

Guys-
I have noticed like 4-5 of us are working on a 360 roster file. I guess my question is why? It is just more work for everyone and the people posting to help us just have their information hitting one spot.

It doesn't make sense to me that one has tattoos and one appearances, etc. I would think that it would make alot more sense to narrow it down to one or two rosters (maybe with ratings edits and without).

I am willing to work with you guys if we can form a consensus on what the files should be and who does what.

You would also need w/ and w/out court edits because of the bug it causes.

dkrause, I think you need to get with BShadows, he is doing great player appearance edits (all you have to do is send him pics or your team edits), naming all coaches and assistants. With your player rating changes, his edits, and a file with and without court edits and we are in business. What you guys think?

I think anything that combines the efforts of the many, is a good thing.

Without any real import functionality it makes a coordinated effort difficult because only one person can work on the file at one time. That's kind of why I've been waiting on Dkrause to get done w/ his edits. After he is pretty much done I'll go through and edit teams and players I'm real familiar with.

what about the community file guys?

they seem to have a solid working team just about every year its the same few give or take. I'd try to PM a few of them to see if they would like to help in your efforts. You've been doing this kind of thing for awhile so I'm sure more people than a few respect your work and wouldn't turn down your offer for one solid roster file.

Great post.

I have been using my personal file, just because I named it 100% myself & am pretty confident in my attention to detail, over a effort like the OS Community roster, which had who knows how many people working on it (not to knock what they all did, but who knows who did what, conferences like the SWAC were completely messed up & took me hours to fix).......

Also, I edited a ton of rotations, equip, & #'s while in the naming process, so I can't lose all of that.

I've updated mine to about 99% of what you've posted thus far, along with tons of appearance & equip & rotation edits of my own from watching games on TV the last week or so.

Personally, I suggest using my file as the "baseline" if anyone wants to do a collaborative effort thing.....I can upload it to 2KShare tonight if interested. Also, I named about 50% of the head coaches, plan on naming the rest tonight....so that will be done too. Classic teams are a work in progress, probably about 3 days away from being complete (or whenever I can unlock ALL of the teams lol).

Also, I seemed to be able to bypass the 2K Share foul language thing, so everyone is named correctly (Peackcock, not Peacack etc.).

You chose which roster to roll with though, a decided "team" effort is much more productive.

Man, I wish I had this problem on the PS3....too many knowledgeable folks...

I don't even really like doing rosters myself, but I am a stickler for realism, and since there's no one else, it kind of leaves me no choice.

Bleh.

Royce, get a PS3. lol
