Fight Songs

Wanted to see if anyone has an answer to this...My school, Ohio University, has their correct fight song in the game when they are warming up and anytime that a fight song is to be played in the game. When I updated my game with the new rosters w/court edits, they no longer have the correct song there. So I go to "team edit" and try to put it back in, but it is no where to be found, I listened to all 80 songs, it's not there.

Anyone else have this happen with their own school? Any idea how to get the correct song back into the game?

Re: Fight Songs

I think this may be a bug. I found that in 2k6, and now in 2k7, that if you make any "school" changes, like courts, coach stuff etc. it bugs your student section and maybe even the fight song.

I tried to change Tommy Amaker's (Michigan) outfit and my student section dissapeared but my fight song remained. In 2k6, when I messed around with Amaker I lost the student section AND the fight song.

I'm pretty sure it's attached to the roster file, and if that's the case, you'll have to try and grab another roster file.

Right when the game came out, I tested this, and the potential bug. I ended up just deleting the bugged roster file and starting a new one. This was before the player-made rosters were out. The player-made roster I did end up downloading didn't give me any issues, thank God.

Further testing is probably required with this issue.

My biggest gripe is that the Ohio fight song is there at default, but not even selectable from the "team edit" screen. I'm sure that Ohio isn't the only school like this either.

Re: Fight Songs

I've downloaded both the OS rosters, and FK's rosters. Here's what I've seen.

OS1128(with court edits): has everything named, but hits this annoying bug (due to the court edits I'm assuming)
OS Roster 1: Does not hit this bug, but doesn't have the classic teams named (and no court edits I'm assuming and possibly some other stuff missing too)
FKrosters: No bug, but no classic players named and presumably no court edits.
FKclassic: No bug, classic players named but presumably no court edits.

Since I feel that court edits would be nice, but not if they cause teams to lose their student sections and fight songs, I decided to go with FKclassic rosters unless someone knows a workaround for this bug.

Re: Fight Songs

I think I may have been hit by this bug a little harder. I originally used OS1128 or whatever, but switched to FKClassic because I think the Fight Songs were missing...however many of the fight songs are still missing (are they all supposed to appear in 2KBeats???), even after completely deleting the OS1128 file. I want to just boot the game cleanly...where it asks you to select your favorite team again, but it won't let me, even after deleting every CH2K7 game file on my hard drive. Any ideas?

Re: Fight Songs

To answer part of your question, no, not every fight song appears in 2kbeats. I noticed this before I ever downloaded or edited any rosters. Michigan State is a good example. The MSU fight song isn't in 2kbeats, but it does play during the games (or at least a reasonable facsimile of it plays). In the OS roster, the reasonable facsimile is gone and it's just some generic song.

while editing courts I noticed that for the majority of schools the fight song is left at the default fight song 1 on the list upon entering that menu.

for some schools its fight song 12 or 35, depending on the school.

I not once recommended changing that fight song number. im guessing its a bug and defaults back to fight song 1 upon entering and changing any variable in the edit school menu.

i'll test it out. which schools should I try? Im guessing Ohio is a problem?

Re: Fight Songs

hmmmmmmmmm

how STUPID of VC.

i guess as you enter the edit school feature and change anything around to where you need to press START to confirm the change, it defaults your fight song back to #1.

I play as UNM and with the court edits in, they have a default song, but when I reset the rosters, i have my schools fight song playing at the beginning of the game. yet when I go to edit school its set at default fight song #1. it is not however listed among the 80 to fix this problem......

It looks like some of yall might wanna go back to the orginial OS file without the court edits or FKclassic's file. VC really screwed us again.

Sorry guys. my 29-40 hours of work is useless here

Re: Fight Songs

sorry for the long stream of posts.. its quite the bug to have.

how could we resolve this?

I know starting with the ACC, the first school listed is Fight Song #1 and it seemingly goes in order all the way through the bigger conferences ending with the PAC10.

however teams like Rice and Memphis do have their fight song listed in the game, a team like UTEP does not. Yet when you play a game with reset orginial rosters, there fight song does infact play.

I think for now we can only edit schools with fight songs that appear in the edit school menu. Which would be + or - 80 schools.

Then we would need to find out about teams like Michigan State or UTEP who do have fight songs but cant be edited and simply avoid those court edits.

the smaller schools like the NEC or southland may not have fight songs from the get go so those might be ok to edit regardless. but teams like creighton, northern iowa and michigan state Do have real fight songs not listed in the the 2kbeats or the edit school menu but play out during the intro of a game. So we would have to test those out in game and make decide if court edits are more important than losing a fight song forever. whats hard is that we have teams like Fairleigh Dickinson who may have a generic fight song but its definetly not fight song #1 that plays during the game, yet during edit school, it defaults back to fight song #1.

Whos up for the challenge to cycle through all 330 teams to see which teams are safe for court edits?

it may not even be worth it. I might be sticking to FKs rosters and forgetting court edits all together.

Who the hell knows if even the listed 80 fight songs in the edit school are aligned up properly with their teams. if we edit only those 80 schools, we run the risk of messing those up

Re: Fight Songs

im doing some fight song research and found that almost every WCC and WAC school are in the game for the pregame intros (and not listed in 2kbeats) but as soon as you enter the edit school screen and confirm your changes by pressing start, you lose the fight song forever.

its either court edits and school edits or lose the fight song for almost 100 schools.

for the 80 schools that have their fight songs appear in the edit school menu, only a few dozen need some form of court editing.

I will now have to attempt to go through all the minor conferences like the MVC and the MEAC to see if any fight songs are present and if not decide if court edits are truly needed.

I am noticing teams with no fight songs in the game given just a generic random fightsong. Its not fight song 1 however,

this is turning into quite the problem.

does anyone want me to continue with teams in the smaller conferences to see if the fight songs played before the game are real or if we should just edit the courts and deal them a default fight song, rather than their generic fight song.

hope all that makes sense.

it almost seems like a mute point to even do court edits because the teams that need them ultimately cant have them because you would end up losing their fight song
