Re: Problem with sharkport
Ok, from a quick Google, it looks like this is a pretty common problem with trying to run a 16-bit/DOS programs (like I would assume the Sharkport software is) on an XP machine.
First, go to C:\WINDOWS\System32 and see if you have the Autoexec.nt file there. Apparently there is some sort of malware that deletes this file.
Anyways, if the file isn't there, or even if it is, we're going to need to repair it, based on the eror message you're getting. Luckily, XP does store these files on the harddrive so that you don't need the XP disc to fix it. You're going to need to go to C:\WINDOWS\repair and right-click/copy the aforementioned Autoexec.nt file. Once you've done that, go back to the original location of the file (C:\WINDOWS\System32) and right-click/paste and overwrite the corrupted file.
If that doesn't work, we'll try the in-depth approach that MS lays out, but hopefully it will.
