Big 12 confirms that Brady Deaton hasn't resigned as expansion committee chairman because he never was chairman, he's 1 of 5 on committee

Reporting has hit a new low. So much crap that NEVER would have been published by any respectable reporter 15 years ago gets thrown onto Twitter.

Very true.

Anyways, apparently the six remaining Big East Presidents of football schools will be meeting in Washington D.C. on Sunday. Note that TCU's President will not be there.

Rumor has it that these schools could all withdraw from the Big East and go as a six-team packaged deal to create a Big 12 superconference. I have seen no evidence of this, but it does make some sense. Nevertheless, this is purely my and a few others' speculation and I certainly wouldn't take it to the bank as it is probably not true. It's a scenario that I haven't seen mentioned that has some validity, though.

On the (very) off chance that happens, I wonder if TCU would join, or go back to the MWC.

A pay site associated with Cincinnati is reporting that BYU, TCU, Louisville, West Virginia, and Cincinnati will join the Big 12.

I HIGHLY doubt this report. I've heard from some people with connections at Iowa State that the conference presidents and ADs are having trouble deciding on how many teams they even want to have in the conference. Sounds like some schools are happy with 10 and others want to get back to divisions and a CCG.

I have a very difficult time believing that the Big 12 is interested in UConn and Rutgers. WVU, Louisville, and Cincinnati - sure. USF is intriguing... I could see it happening.

Rutgers and UConn = Lots of TV sets...

Other than that they don't bring much and certainly are not geographically aligned with the Big 12.
