Wow, things can't get any worse for UConn. Four losses by a combined 13 points and two heartbreaking losses in a row for this team, Jasper Howard's death, and now this. Wow.

UConn's next game is at Cincinnati at 8 PM this coming Saturday on ABC, so that won't exactly be the ideal environment for the Huskies to get back on track, either.

Endres, a redshirt sophomore, will have surgery this morning for an injury similar to the one sustained by Oklahoma quarterback — and reigning Heisman Trophy winner — Sam Bradford.

Bradford had a sprained ACL joint in his shoulder — but it was his throwing shoulder.

Rutgers senior defensive tackle Blair Bines made the hit.

"When I came down on him, I saw he came down on his shoulder and made some noises and was holding his arm," said the 6-foot-2, 270-pound Bines.

Zach Frazer, who was replaced by Endres in the North Carolina game after sustaining a knee injury, replaced Endres Saturday and had a rough start, throwing two first half interceptions and three for the game.

"I knew I was letting my team down throwing the interceptions; you definitely, as a quarterback, ... get a sense of ... 'it's my fault, it's my fault,' " Frazer said. "But the next play is what you have to focus on, and I think we came together as an offensive unit at the end and drove down the field and did exceptionally well. It just didn't turn out the way we wanted to today."

The redshirt junior engineered two fourth-quarter scoring drives, an eight-play, 82-yard drive in which he found Marcus Easley for the final 32, and 15-play, 87-yard drive that ended with a 2-yard scoring run by Jordan Todman that gave the Huskies their first, but short-lived, lead of the game, 24-21.

Rutgers answered with a one-play, 81-yard catch-and-run by Tim Brown to end the game.

"As an athlete, as a player, as a team, we all want to win, everyone wants to win," Frazer said. "You just got to take the good things out if it and continue to work on the bad."

Wide receiver Kashif Moore said the Huskies have faith in Frazer.

"We all believe in him," Moore said.

Rutgers has a way with ending the season of QBs. [Reply]

Interesting. I used to work for Cody Endres' dad. I didn't realize he was starting. [Reply]

He's been starting since Zach Frazer was injured late in the game against UNC in game #2 of the year. Frazer had been performing very poorly up to that point and Endres has been an improvement over Frazer over the last few games (though Endres is still an average QB, at best). Now that Endres is injured, Frazer will be the starter once again. Frazer had a knack for throwing interceptions early this season, so I expect quite a few against Cincinnati this coming Saturday night. [Reply]

Just about nothing has gone right for UConn this year.

Frazer is awful, I doubt we go to a bowl game. [Reply]
